I didn't run into that but it was too much trouble for not much better results. A person's skin type really comes into play here obviously. Just like anything, results my vary.

I've tried Nair, but I gotta tell ya, I got a raging yeast infection and I'd never attempt that again.

I do use baby oil most often and I do like the results. You do have to be super careful not to slip (as mentioned earlier) and I recommend you have a strong stream of water to help rinse the blades out. Oil tends to gunk up razors BIG TIME.

I shave with hot water, but I've heard for a super close shave, to use ice on the area to tighten up the pores, which will make the hairs stand up straighter, which is supposidly supposed to give the closest shave ever, but I've never been brave enough to try it out.

Well, this is an odd topic for my first post, but I've found sugaring works well.
It is a bit more time consuming, but it doen't stick to the skin as much as wax
and can evolve into a lovely ritual and is a lot more fun to cleanup.

Exactly. Nads is actually a sugar based "wax" -- works the same way, but it's water soluble.

if you're going to shave at home get some coochy cream. aficionados swear by the stuff. you can purchase it on amazon.

Great discussion!!! Lots of great tips. As for me, my dominant does the shaving for me and I couldn't be happier. It is a great foreplay exercise.

I use Magic powder. It is formulated for black men to use on their face to remove the coarse hair. It works well in the nether regions and is gentle enough not to cause chemical burns. It can be purchased at Dollar General or Wal-mart. It comes premixed or in a powder form. The powder form must be mixed with water to make a paste and smells HORRIBLE. I prefer the pre-mixed cream.

Be sure to test it in a small area before using it! Be sure to RINSE very well.

I only have to do this about every two weeks. The hair grows in slowly and much softer and finer than before.

Important Note: The first time or two you use this it will not work very well. Use it once, wait a few days and do it again, then a few more days and do it again. After that you should be able to only do it a couple of times a month. No more shaving, waxing, plucking, or razor bumps!

I'm a wax-a-holic. Due to my lovely skin, shaving would be the end of me. I've had the most horrendous ingrowns from shaving and I'll never put myself through that again!

I get a 'hard body wax'. It sounds worse than the strips, but I think it does a more thorough job with less of the annoying pain that strips give. The hard body wax is wax that they slather all over in a thick layer and let it dry (I confess it feels quite nice). After it dries, they tear off piece by piece. It goes by quicker and the wax holds on to more hair than a stupid strip. A good waxer will also give you tips to help keep the ingrowns away. Mine told me to exfoliate down there and that it 'may hurt'. Pffft. It didn't hurt at all, LOL!

I just started shaving my face, because I got sick of hiding my face behind my beard, and I like that it makes me look a lot younger. (not to mention more effeminate) The only problem is that facial hair grows back so darn fast that smooth feeling barely lasts a few hours after I shave. Add to that my neck is highly sensitive and it actually hurts quite a bit to have this fast growing stubble on my face. Any suggestions for a more permanent facial hair removal for men? Also I'll keep all those tips for body hair removal i mind so this really saved me from making a similar topic.

i have used nair and for some reason it doesnt seem to burn at all. i have done it a few times and the first time it did burn. i must have gotten use to it i guess.

this slave had to start removing it down there when she submitted to Master, almost 7 years ago. in that time there hasn't been one day of perfectly smooth and soft...and this slave has tried everything except electrolysis.
