We're studying the chapter on "marketing yourself" in school right now. You have to advertise. A Yellow Pages ad is a must. Craig's List. If the local schools have functions where they print programs, like sporting events, concerts, etc., they usually sell ads to local business for a very reasonable price. If you're focusing on children's photography, make up flyers advertising yourself and post them where parents and grandparents are. Or, if it's wedding photography, post them in places prospective brides go. Find out where and when the bridal expo's are and attend. And so on. I know you spend time down the Jersey shore [:)].....and I know lots of people have family, engagement, etc. photos taken at the beach. Post flyers anywhere you can there. As far as what to do and how to act? Easy. You already look good. Just smile, make eye contact and hold out your hand when you greet people. They will usually ask the questions if they're interested, and you'll already know the answers because you built the business. Just be yourself, be natural, don't try to hardsell. Your work is fabulous, it will sell itself.
