They say there's no one reason why that is. I bet I can think of a reason, but I doubt they'll like it.

It is hard to be happy.. male or female when life is out of balance. We require different things to be happy and if one thing gets out of balance, no matter who is doing what or what our lifestyle is... things won't go well. We must make time to balance ourselves, whatever that takes. With life as it is.. most feel they don't have that time to take care of themselves. They are overwhelmed.

It's like food groups. You need each group for some reason. You must work, family, social obligations, play... etc. If you have too much of one or two things and leave something out, you will be frustrated and joy is harder to find. If you keep things in balance, you will know joy and joy is your strength I believe.

I could give lots of reasons why people are not satisfied or are unhappy. But I would rather find reasons they can be happy and satisified and focus on that. Attitude about it all has a lot to do with it. With the right attitude, one can withstand most anything that does tend to knock someone out. So balance and attitude are my answers and I am rarely off balance in happiness.

My answer is more related to my views on the two sexes. But like I said....you ain't gonna like it.

I mean it's basically similar to your answer. And it goes back to the many discussions and accusations of men being 'simpler' creatures.

Well, perhaps that's true. But given that story, I wouldn't say being 'simpler' is a bad thing, now is it?

I edited my first response to include more of my views. The plain and simple truth, though, is that it reminds me of the saying 'women ain't happy no matter what you do.'

Actually your addition makes some sense. A simpler life can lead to much more peace and balance. Now as to who is simpler or what can be argued either way...lol that would lead to a not so simple life for me... so not going there! lol

Well, you know me. The misogynist asshole, always looking to make a funny.

However, I have to tell you....I stumbled into that thread about the 'crossdressing liars'.....although I came to it very late in the game...after everyone pretty much was done with it. Your comments cracked me up...I have to tell you (tell you here since it's clear no one is going to that thread anymore).

Oh I don't recall everything you said. But I do recall that your sarcastic responses to the rather batshit-crazy OP were cracking me up. I got in one shot at the end, but I doubt anyone saw it because the party had moved on.

I'm going to get all Buddhist on you here, but your happiness is entirely within your control. You decide what you need to make you happy, you decide to be happy with what you have in your life or not. Happiness is not an external thing, it is entirely internal. I have nearly nothing, my personal spending money for a month is about $60, but I am happy with my life. I have that which I require for my happiness, sure there are things I'd like to have that I don't, but I don't tie my happiness to them.

The secret to happiness is simply to learn to accept what you have and to appreciate and enjoy it without fixating on what you don't have.

All it takes to go from unhappy to happy is a conscious decision to do so.This I know to be true as I have done it. I am no longer on anti-depressants, and my situation in life is now actually worse than it was when I was suffering from depression. How, you ask? Simple, I just decided to be happy with my lot in life...and amazingly enough I am.

I think women are less happy than men because we tie our happiness not to ourselves alone, but to those we are responsible for. So if you have children and elderly parents and therefore you worry not just about yourself but about four extra people, the odds are that at least one of those four will have a problem and it will impact the happiness of the woman who loves them.

That sounds like the lack of the ability to compartmentalize. Many men seem to have no problems with that ability. But I know many women do.

I whole heartedly agree with this. Women are always analyzing. "Is that all there is?" or wanting more or comparing themselves to other. Or also, because women are valued for their physical appearance and can never be satisfied. Look in the mirror and have low self esteem where men are raised to feel like studs always. Also, women are often times worn ragged. Yes men have a burden of supporting a family. But many times women have loser men that dont support them. Maybe sit on their butt and not work and yet still expect her to do the chores. Many women are stretched thin between child rearing, job and household, where a man may feel entitled to wind down when he gets home. Or a woman that stays home with the kids, isnt given a break with her firends or help with the menial tasks becaue thats her job. Shes usually the last on her to do list or not on it at all. These are some of the many reasons while women are unhappy. She also is more emotional and therefore stresses and worries more.

Men are raised to feel like studs always? That's a new one on me.

I'm not suprised, however, to see you heaping a lot of blame on the men, though. I expected that.

So, in summation of your lengthy paragraph could be the line "Or in other words, they're just never satisfied no mater what."

I am happy and I am a woman. I work and make my own money, decisions and take care of business. I also raised a child alone and am a working Mom. I can see where some people may be unhappy, especially in this economy but I know it is not ALL women. So these studies where they generalize it towards a certain part of the populace, I really do not believe them.

Sometimes its mens fault. Sometime not. But in the grand scheme of things a person has the choices in their life. So if they choose wrong its on them. But yes, women are rarely satisfied. Sometimes perhaps because they gleen their satisfaction from approval of others and external forces. A miriad of reasons. Some of them most likely just the way the female mind works.
