Not sure where i saw this;
Woman walking down the street is robbed & beaten-up.
Man comes along; "This is terrible, this victim needs help."
Social worker comes along; This is terrible, whoever did this is a victim,
they need help!"

um where is the joke in this..... quite possibly they would be correct though I personally dislike the term victim being used for anyone

The joke just tells how it works here in the Netherlands.
The criminal gets more treatment and attention then the victim.

So it is not a joke..it is the truth..

wandersalone, i must apologise for using the word; "victim," i do not seek
to upset anyone. Humour means different things to different people.
As TurboJugend says; That is how it is where he lives. It's the same in GB.
Yet here we laugh at the irony.

It's not funny, but it's true. People who are violent are victims of themselves. It takes a deeply unhappy person to go and beat up another. Such people are fucked, and I say this as the victim of a rather violent assault at the hands of my 'stepsister' a few years ago (she never 'paid' for her crime, but I think that it will bite her in the ass eventually, because so far she has not shown the capacity to evolve and grow as a person... I know, however, that she is suffering a great deal and for that, she has my deepest sympathy, even though she tried to strangle me and nearly ripped my throat open.)
