The short answer is that it depends on your employer, your insurance carrier and the state where you live. The longer answer is that while i've never known a company that would carry multiple partners. my company will pay for partners of the same sex, but not different sex partners. Children, if they're your dependents can often be carried on your insurance, but that's no guarantee either. When i worked in HR i used to tell our employees that if they could claim them as dependents on their tax forms they stood a good chance of the insurance companies approving their coverage. However, with the health care crisis being what it is these days, the rules are changing all the time, both in what the company will provide/pay for, and what they make available to their employees, no matter who's paying. It's best for you to check with your HR people (no need to call them subs/slaves, partners should be enough). Good luck... jimini
