I'm a romance author so I am always looking for names that are unique.  Here are some I've used in some of my books:

Julian, Tristan, Galen, Aiden, Connor, Lucian, Erik, Mathias, Iloni (pronounced ill-oni) and Apollo

Good luck
Miss Lily

*LOVES all of these as well..

OK, pahunkboy, this is going to sound all mystical and stuff, but I know it works . . .

What you do is search through lists of names.  Get a book on forenames, or more than one book, and give it/them a thorough read.  Then you go to the UM - and 'ask him' his name.  He'll tell you.  Look into his face, and he'll pop his name into your head.

I like that suggestion.

These are a couple other resources.

What is a nice twist is to take the grandparent or family name you like, look-up the meaning, and then look for names with a similar meaning.

An example is Cynthia.  Cynthia is a name for Artemis, the moon goddess of ancient Greece.  Other moon-goddess names are Diana, Tait, Morrigan, Celine  (there are many others).

If there is a female person you admire, you can look up the meaning of her name and then locate a male name with a similar meaning in the same way.

If I'd had a 3rd male UM, I'd have named him Cameron.  I think it's become kind of girly now, thanks to Ms. Diaz.

I love the names Kyle, Tristan, Liam & Dagonet (silent "T") but they may be too poetic or lyrical for some tastes.

Congratulations and good luck with picking out a name.

I tried to phone her and it is busy.  She once said Joshua.

Your sister enjoys her hebrew names .  So with that in mind and noticing she likes names based on strength or heros...

Aaron means mountain of strength/Pillar of strength.
Armstrong - stron fighter
Boaz - 'swiftness and strength'.
Caleb - overcommer of overwhelming odds
Gideon - used learned/intellectual strength, rather than arms.
Gevariah - strength of god.
Maynard - Brave
Oz - Strength
Wyatt - war power/strength
Zale - Strength of the sea.

Thomas is a good strong name.
How about some of the Irish names, Sean, Liam, Brendan, Rory, Cieran, Dermot, Donal, etc?

Ok- I am now an uncle again. We have no name.

Any ideas?

Everything is coming up no go-

The first UM name-  "Ethen".

No c-section-  but very hard expecting period.

I don't know if I am allowed to post this.  But we really are out of ideas... and the UM showed up last night- 8 lbs -looks just like my maternal grandfather- and I sense that this kid will go on to do interesting things in life. Just a sense...

HELP!

??

(please?)

I presume from the suggested name (Ethen) that it's a boy.

If so....I like "Turner".

(Middle name...."Over").

A synthesis of your dad and grandfather's names perhaps?  The significance it would have I think would be a long term blessing to the little one.  I like a lot of the other names listed here too.  Good luck and congrats!
