-->  excerpt ->
former Silicon Valley entrepreneur and Washington insider who took over running the organisation in July, said there had been legitimate concerns that some countries were developing alternative internets as a way of routing around American control./snip

What do folks think of this?

On the one hand it seems like it could backfire....  yet MAYBE the net will be more creative under this new mode.

It sounds like we sort of had to do this... but what will the future net look like?

Maybe not very much English sites....   ouch.

Ideas??

The Netherlands worries about the excuse called "war on terror". We don't want all we do on the net to be traced and kept.
It is better to have a group of people run it. So their is a balance in opinions...and surely not goverment related people. Independent if that is possible.
