I'm not a gregarious type of person, I have no one listed as a friend. I would only list people I met in person, and enjoy the company of.

I pretty much don't give the one here a second thought.  I don't add to mine, and as far as my closest friends in here, I'm not on most of theirs.

Thanks for all your replies and a special thanks to DemonKia for writing such an informative and amusing post.

I have found that sometimes the online friends thing can come back and bite you on the arse.... well its happened to me once and once was enough to make me more cautious.
I used to be quite pally with another female on here but what I didn't realize was that by being pally I was enrolling myself (unknowingly) into a sort of mutual appreciation club. When I contradicted her, politely and I believe diplomatically on one of the open forums it was like a bomb going off. She took such offense at a friend not agreeing with her that she not only openly brought stuff up about my personal life and berated it but sent me hate mail before deleting me off her friends list.

This was the major problem I had under my old profile, having too long of a friends list ended up being a case where a few would attempt to draw my into issues which I do not want to be a part of.  After I deleted and created this one, I have made a point to be very selective of accepting friends requests, thus my list is quite short. A few had sent a request to which I didn't accept. It is the quality and not quantity of friends.

In my opinion then they're not a friend but a poorly adjusted psycho.

I had a friend like that once as a kid, she could blow very hot and very cold, only I didn't have to disagree with her to make her spout mean shit, I don't remember what happened but we had a tiff, and since she knew I was being sexually molested at the time she yelled "go fuck your dad you know you like to" as I walked off to go back home.

She also did things like call you rude and insulting knick names like piss ant , but  preternded it was supposed to be all in good fun.

Another so called friend didn't want to be seen with me at school because I was unpopular and it wuld get her teased if people saw us together at school.

Nevermind... I shouldn't drink and post. Learned THAT lesson...
