Well, it all comes down to what YOU are willing to do. So how many people are a crowd for you? I've been to a munch with 70 people. I've also been to a munch with 6. You make your decision. If you really really really want to get involved in the real life community, you'll get yourself to a munch. After the first munch you'll know people there. If it's not really really really important for you to do that, then you'll stay here online and hope and pray that somehow, someday, you'll find what you seek. I don't like crowds either, but I knew what I wanted and went anyway.
Basically, it's YOUR choice as to what YOU are willing to do for what YOU want.
