estah -> What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/3/2009 10:03:18 PM)

I have to admit I have heard some good ones in my time, but a fun one (from Germany) is the Bielefeld-verschwörung, the idea behind this is is that a whole city does not exist...there is no evidence it exists. Noone knows anyone from the city, only from near the city and all photoes are just doctored. It is really funny.

Best as in funniest, most believable, least believable?

Edit: Not that it matters. "Life" is the answer no matter which one you're looking for. [:D]

Whatever is most fitting to the individual. If it is for you the funniest then mention that one or if it is the most believable, the most out there...heck if you have more then one, you are welcome and encourcaged to list them all.

I think it would be a tie between "The moon landings were a hoax" and "The World Trade Center towers were brought down by controlled demolitions."

My personal favorite is that September 11th was really an attack against the mystical defenses of the United states - that the Pentagon is really a giant protective pentagram and the Twin Towers are a giant representation of the black and white pillars of the Kabballistic Tree of Life. By knocking down the towers and "breaking" the pentagram the 9/11 attackers destroyed the mystic protections of the United States, allowing the current period of chaos and disorder to come into place.

Makes perfect sense to me. It's all so simple and so self-evident when you think about it; how could anyone doubt it?

I have to say I like that one, And do not forget the fact that as the explosions happened in the towers, that the face of the devil is to be seen...Wow, the evidence is so overwhelming.

FR

If you want THE BEST conspiracy theory of all, download this movie called They Live. It has Rowdy Roddy Piper and that broad with the funny looking eyes and a bunch of old people. It was in 'moratorium' from video rental and might still be as it can be taken as politically incorrect. However it is available on P2P, and I wll keep a copy in my shared directory, if anyone can get to the guentella(sp) networks. This is really heavy duty, you think you have conspiracy theories ? I think the guy who wrote this answers his phone with an assault rifle in hand. It is really far out. Well put together and the acting is better than one might expect from a Z movie like this.

If y'all want to talk about conspiracy theories, this is a must see.

Oh, in case you didn't know, our lives are controlled by people of much wealth and power. They have power over the media so can shape public opinion and get us to support a cause no matter how foolish. They take and take and take from our wealth every day and line their pockets, while Men willing to work are left to rot in the streets. This has caused the destruction of our country, and the world will be there just like vultures on a dead carcass.

But there never was any conspiracy. Nope, none of these people were ever alone in a room, and they of course have the highest morality possible. They are forgiven for their sins, so they can do what they want. The Phasises would be a better choice really. But they don't know one another, despite going to the same college, related by blood and belonging to the same golf club. Or is that gulf club now ?

Watch the movie and get back to me.

Master T,

That is not a conspiracy, that is a fact. The rich are the blood suckers of modern society. (Not all just those involved in the blood sucking part...sorry to those who are into vampirism).

One of my favorites is the one that all of the job and manufacturing outsourcing to China was intended to destroy the Communist system there by dumping money into their economy, and averting the need for a second Cold War.

Moonhead -> RE: What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/4/2009 4:45:55 AM)

My favourite conspiracy theory is the Presleyburger story.
(The one about military intelligence bumping off Kennedy because they were worried that he was going to start a nuclear war if they left him be is almost as good.)

HatesParisHilton -> RE: What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/4/2009 5:50:59 AM)

That "pentagram" one, I'd forgotten it, but... wow.  damn.

anyway, one that I love from Mega Fundamentalist AntiSemites, as an explanation of evolution being a hoax...

is that Jewish scientists used tech to fabricate fossils (including carbon dates) and planted them in the various paleo-dig sites to bring down Christendom.

That one was a jem.

edit:  goddamn keyboard and bad fingers...

pahunkboy -> RE: What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/4/2009 6:21:17 AM)

My favorite one is how some say they don't exist.

Incidentally building 7 was "pulled".   IE imploded..

QuietSoul22 -> RE: What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/4/2009 7:20:31 AM)

this is where one should always read for themself the proposed legislation-  and make sure it is the correct version as they amend the bills many times.

HatesParisHilton -> RE: What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/4/2009 7:36:19 AM)

It's not like Obama could ever grow the moustache anyway.

One of my faves. I remember watching it on broadcast TV some Saturday afternoon years back. Interesting concept.

Now, if only I can find my eyeglasses...

InvisibleBlack -> RE: What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/12/2009 4:24:38 PM)

Okay, I found a new one that might be the best ever conspiracy theory for me...

Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for ending the Second World War and finishing off the Nazi menace 68 years after that war began by bombing the secret Nazi base on the dark side of the Moon. After all, everyone knows that Nazi UFOs left their secret Antarctic base in 1944 to set up shop on the Moon but until now no one was willing to do anything about it!

Evil fascist plans came to a end when our President daringly used the NASA LCROSS Impact study, purported to be searching for water on the moon, as a cover for bombing the Moon and ending the Nazi threat! Recognizing this great contribution to humanity, the Prize was awarded to Barack Obama the very day he launched this unprecedented attack on the Moon!

thornhappy -> RE: What is the best conspiracy theory you have heard of? (10/12/2009 5:30:25 PM)

Here's one - that Obama is the Antichrist (guess they gave up on the Pope, eh?)

Here's a bit of the article -

"I came across this passage in my notes from a 1902 speech by National Association of Manufacturers' president David M. Parry:

When one observes the thousands of toilers of that city [Chicago!] with the badge of trades unionism upon their coats, or, after the manner of the Teamsters' Union, on the front of their hats or caps, one is reminded of the words of St. John, in Revelations. In the thirteenth chapter of the prophecy he refers to a beast which arose from the sea and caused no end of torment to mankind. Speaking of the work of this beast, St. John says, in the sixteenth and seventeenth verses: 'And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads. And that no man might buy or sell save he that hath the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.'"

Union membership = eternal damnation. Good to know.

Oh, and, at ResistNet, the "Home of the Patriotic Resistance," one commenter wondered whether Obama's Nobel Peace Prize confirms that he is the antichrist, or could be interpreted to mean he is just the precursor to said nemesis. (Found via Adele Stan at AlterNet.)
