Once again, scandal rears it's ugly head. This time it's a judge who is undergoing trial for sex offenses. It seems his honor would take male inmates into his chambers to spank and have sex with them. Now I myself have great faith in the corrective power of a good spanking, but I never thought that it was really appropriate for felonies.

Let the revels begin.

I'm sorry that you found it unpleasant to contemplate your bait not drawing any nibbles.

I think you misunderstand. This isn't at all bait. This is just a story too good not to comment upon no matter what the political parties involved. Just like Larry Craig cruising in the men's room, having a judge spanking criminals strikes me as just plain funny. Do I think there are some who used the Larry Craig matter to tar repbulicans? Yes. Do I expect the same on this story? Yes.

Personally, my feelings are the same for Craig, this guy and George Michael. It isn't their kinks that make me shake my head. It's the fact that they couldn't find some classier and less illegal way to indulge those kinks.

Other than that, it's just a plain old funny politician story.

No.  It is a really horrific abuse of authority story, which apparently you would like to be a funny story, comparable to a politician trying to get his needs met without being "out."  It isn't.

I can't imagine why you want to dismiss this into partisan bullshit.  Oh wait...  Nevermind.

I'm kind of surprised that no one blew the whistle on this guy the first time.  Wouldn't folks hear this going on?

Of course, Heretic. Everything I say is partisan. Every time I criticize a conservative I'm accusing him of being a racist  and I just brought this up because I wanted to excuse a democrat for getting himself in justly deserved (and he does deserve every bit of trouble he gets...with luck he will end up in jail and he'll be getting the spankings) trouble. It is all part of my evil agenda to play partisan politics when such things are unheard of save in my posts. It goes with my evil agenda to deny free speech rights to the right, abolish the second amendment and overthrow the American way.

It would be a lot more believable if you didn't go out of your way to spin the Craig story to ignore the incredible hypocrisy he showed in this matter.

Well damn, and here I thought you were baiting Republicans to engage in some good old partisan "reveling" about a Democrat getting caught with his pants down for a change (or in this case with somebody else's pants down).

Nope...this one would have been funny no matter what party he belonged to. A judge spanking guys for being "bad little criminals"? Funny beats politics every time.

Partisanship shouldn't play any role in a judge caught abusing his authority like this, Kirata.

He is a judge, and he is using the official power of his office for sexual exploitation.  Let's pretend it is a funny little tabloid thing though, and minimize it, since he's connected to the Democrats instead of the Republicans.

You misunderstand me, intentionally or not. I think the book needs to be thrown at this guy. What he did sucks (no pun intended) big time. This is a guy who needs to go to jail in a big way. I am not lessening anything. I am just marveling at how perverse and stupid some of the people who are in power can be.

That's not the title you put on the thread, Spinner...

Yeah.  I can see the edge of humor here.  I'm a fan of creative sentencing, but this crosses that line.  It wasn't just paddling, there was coerced sex going on as well.  Play the judge's kinky game, let him fuck you, you get off light.  There also seemed to be some pretty serious other judicial misconduct going on as well.

Honestly, Kirata? Until you brought up the whole "partisan" thing, I was thinking in terms of "If you can't come up with a few good, wiseass comments on this matter, you're probably dead". This is a straight line desperately looking for a punchline. Then you brought up the idea of "republican vultures" and I figured that it was likely happen, given that it happens pretty much with every issue, story or thread around here. It wasn't, however, my first thought.

I got a laugh out of the story. I figured others would too.

Gee....why would I mention Larry Craig just because he was the last politician nabbed in a kinky sex scandal (for the record, gay sex is not necessarily kinky, men's room cruising is)? Why shouldn't I notice that it seems both republicans and democrats have guys letting the little heads do the thinking for the big heads? Why shouldn't I even hint at the idea that this now takes the place of the "what the hell was this guy thinking" story at the top of the list?

Guys, it was meant to be funny, make people smile and that's about it. And that said, you can now take all the shots you like. I am not fishing for approval or asking for apologies. I certainly am not going to try to explain a joke any further. Explaining a joke kills it dead.

Thank you for your input.
