What's the difference between "dittoheads" and "sheeple"

I mean starting 15 years or so ago, Rush's listeners were encouraged to call up and say "ditto Rush" and they were held high in the minds of the conservative faction as those who didnt bother to think for themselves but les "Us" tell them what they needed to think.  Now that same faction is denigrating what they call "sheeple" as those who dont think for themselves but let the liberal types tell them what to think.

What ever happened to actually checking and analyzing the data for yourself.  Whatever happened to "critical thinking"  when you read an article, your first question should be "what ax does the author have to grind?"

Some of the logic that these pundits use to "prove" their assertions is ludicrous.  I remember pissing My parents off back in the late 60's when I was like 9 years old and all the advertisements were on saying "90% of all heroine users started with marijuana"  I looked at My parents and said the logic is silly.  That's like saying that kissing gets you pregnant.  But our government and those who want to be our government (BOTH parties) insist on using this kind of crap and insulting (I hope) the collective intelligence of the population untill now, we live down to their expectations.

Dont be a dittohead OR a sheeple
THINK for yourself...

thinking gets me in trouble!

Trouble HillWilliam TROUBLE!!!

DANGER RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

Seriously though... I don't take anything anyone says at face value for

Compared to what we don't know... we are all idiots. Statistics, while useful, are meaningless to me. They do not dictate what is happening NOW, or how these things will affect us in the future. They are quite useful as sales tools.

"Did you know that 89 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot?"

Rush might have had some good ideas- and sometimes makes a good point- but he is just an entertainer- that is all.

Jerry Springer, Glen Beck, Oprah Windfree, Michael Jackson, and Rush Limbaugh.

All of it is meant to sell ad space.    Nothing more.

The majority of people who are trying to make a living and raise a family these days don't by and large have a lot of time to invest in researching and reflecting upon all of the issues hitting the fan in this connected world, and, with respect to many of the most important ones, few of us have access to the controlled information that we would need to make a fully-informed decision. That's why we elect people and make it specifically their job to understand and deal with these things in an intelligent way that reflects the values that unite us (i.e., the Constitution).

In my opinion, the problem lies not with our failure to adequately research and reflect upon all of the issues that affect us, but rather with our failure to adequately research and reflect upon the character of the fucking assholes we elect to do that job.

What's the matter. Did your other Rush-bashing thread already die?

Whoops, I guess it did.

Well, you gotta admit Sanity, it had a pretty good run, and what? Are you trying to bring it back into syndication?

Re: My "Rush bashing"  Ya fergot Glen Beck.  Also, I wasnt bashing them.  I was bashing the folks that decided that these people should be the face of the party that espouses Family Values and Morality.  Before you decide who I am bashing, I'd just like to say that most of My votes go to the Republican side of the ballot.

dittoheads can say "yes you are right" and not mean it just to climb up a socio-political ladder JUST to gain the freedom to say something different for their own purposes LATER (Like Jim Lee and McFarlane working for Marvel and then making sure Image busted out Marvel's market share nuts into a gorey testicular road-accident-jam-mess in the early-to-mid 90's).
\
\sheeple are just spineless weaklings too dumb to do anything else than "agree" to feel loved and appreciated.  at te expense of other people who have equal right to be loved and appreciated.

case closed.

This is simply not true and everybody knows it. Rush is powerful political commentator and ideological force. He can not be reduced to "unimportance". You may like him or not, agree or disagree.

You know, it's funny, but I never heard anyone on the right say that Rush or Glenn was the "face", or "leader" of the the GOP, only those on the left make that claim.

And as the Republican party were willing to let him do that (and lambast party members who've been elected to political positions but who don't ditto him on everything as fakes and pretenders), he's probably all they deserve at this point.

LOL, when confronted by someone accusing pot of being a "gateway" drug i used the analogy that all heroin  users at one time or another drank milk or baby formula.

Or that the first glass of cider you drink as a teenager will inevitably leave you sleeping under a railway bridge and begging for spare change to buy meths...
