"I didn't ask for bible passages, I asked what church you went to where they taught you that in sunday school? I still remember most of the stories they taught us, but nothing like what you are talking about."

why should she answer?  show us the post where you were happy with ANY answer from anyone else on any topic of this sort and link to it, since you like to add links to other threads.

Or show us the thread where you make someone happy, or made them laugh, or YOU made someone laugh.  Link us to THAT and then demand that people tell you what YOU wanna know from them.  Especially since you've appropriated the image of Stewie and HE backs up what he says (or demands of someone else, anyone else)  in such a manner, a manner of Stewie giving as good as he gets but willing to take the hard knocks he likes to doll out to others.  Via the talents of same guys who gave us American Dad.  The guys that make sure Stewie never demands of anyone else what Stew cannot or will not give himself.

If you like I'll do a hand-done piece with loving detail of Roger waltzing with Stewie for your next userpic, or one of them getting MARRIED since they have equal right to marriage as much as Fred and Wilma had a right to be married.

Oh and I asked for your definition of a "true conservative".

and I asked you for a definition of conservatives you know RE the Coulter joke and you merely replied with a lazy-ass single emoticon.  If fair is fair then elegant is free to do the same with you (answer in the form of one emoticon) and you have to fucking lump it or have double-standards.

The Conservapedia and this conservative's Bible are creations of the same man. Andrew Schafly. He's the son of Phyllis Schaffly who runs the Eagle Forum, claims sole credit for defeating the ERA and is one of craziest conservatives out there.

In my view, if things have come to the point where people who apparently favor a Christian Theocracy are called "conservatives" then the word is no longer of any use in intelligent discourse.

Would that the rest of the country join you.

I've always felt that "neocon" was a useful term in this context, but it seems that the Republican party has given up on that one as soon as Bush left office. Maybe they're just humouring Futuyama, who I think was complaining about his term being misused the other year.

Seriously? Genesis. Including sex with minor, incest, sex with drunk person, rape.

Now for graphic violence, hmmm. Entire Revelation maybe? Including stripping naked, killing, eating human flesh, cooking human flesh.

It is book people, what is the big issue. One of the greatest literature of the human civilization.

I didn't ask for bible passages, I asked what church you went to where they taught you that in sunday school? I still remember most of the stories they taught us, but nothing like what you are talking about.

Oh and I asked for your definition of a "true conservative".

1. roman catholic. There is no religion-lite there. As kid you learn how serverly Jesus was whipped, by roman whip, my priest had a picture of cat, with spikey metal endings, and then on the end they will make sure you feel guilty about it. Catholic guilt, amazing thing. I didnt whip him, excuse me, but you will never see me in sandals holding whip, not my style.

2. Person favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change. That would be general definition. Add support death penalty, oposses abortion, has nothing better to do then define marriage as union between one boy and one girl, and that is modern american conservative. Notable examples: Mark Sanford, Larry Craig.

Are you arguing that Bible as collection of stories doesnt have very graphic sexual acts? Very brutal violence? I am not talking about that it teaches, but what it is written there? Bible teachings for last 2000 years are very subjective, everyone pulled and used bits and pieces they wanted to like.

Well that doesn't fit any of the conservatives I know. A couple things fit a couple people, but not all of them. Seems like a pretty broad paint brush there, covering a lot of people.

Nope, just curious as to where you got your views on it. I should have know there was a catholic in the background somewhere though. I am glad our church focused on the love angle.

In modern political scene in this country, there is no true right or left. We have them somewhere in the margins. Like small communist parties, and few of the white supremacy parties. But Rep, or Dem, are just in the middle. There is no Liberal party, at least not modern type. Words conservative and liberal are no longer political terms, they are coffee break terms in my opinion. They are great for attacking person, not much to contribute to politics.

And what is your branch of Church of endless love?

Moonhead -> RE: The Conservative Bible (10/8/2009 12:04:09 PM)

I'd have said that the Dems and the Reps both lean a fair way to the right. Both of them are pretty close to the right edge of the centre, imo. It's a long time since it was possible to describe either as centrist.

I'm not sure how you're defining "right" in this context, but both the Right and the Left do take on a Totalitarian hue as you get closer to the fringes.

That would be congregational [:)]

HatesParisHilton -> RE: The Conservative Bible (10/8/2009 11:05:34 PM)

ahhhhhhhh, but Unitarian Congregations...

Fiscally conservative while loving the doggies and indigo whatsits and ...

Roger and Stewie dance a waltz while sixty-nining in your HONOUR!

(That's possible, and fun to watch, when it happens right with women or men with actual Rhythm doing it at Big Queer Nation parties, as opposed to folks with anti-rhythm like Ellen.  Which is REALLLLLLY sad since Portia - a fellow Aussie - can actually DANCE.)
