FR - my regret at turning the thread in such an analytical direction is that by deconstructing the spirit of the thing, and analyzing people's motives for joining in, some people might become self-conscious and inhibited. I just didn't want to take the fun out of it for everyone.

Also, I'm thinking that such a noble and considerate gesture should be good for at least 20 points. But that, of course, is just a minor factor in my reasoning. I swear.

Jeez, I feel badly about putting you to the trouble. But just out of curiosity - because I'm always intrigued by useless technical trivia - how did you search that? I don't use the search function here much, because it never seems to work when i want it to do something even remotely complex. Sounds like you've got it mastered, at least to a greater degree than I do. I'd be curious, if you've got a moment to expound.

No problem at all!

I started by searching all posts which I had authored, using the keyword "points". That gave me a sizeable set of links to verify and from there I started seriously tallying them. For some reason, though, those search parameters fail to find every instance.

When I know of a certain user that I'm searching for points for, I instead use their username as the keyword. Doing so with your username, for instance, yielded links to posts where I'd given out those 90 points...none of which were shown when I'd searched using the original parameters.

Ah! Not so complicated after all, then. I don't use search functions much at all, but for some reason CM's search has always seemed so hinky when I do use it that I  kind of lost faith in it altogether. And seldom even crack it open at all. But yeah, that's pretty straightforward after all.

NZ, please correct me if am wrong on this:
You started proffering points prior to your ascension to status of CM Sex God Du Jour. 
I think Jeff (Leadership527) gets the credit for starting the points total in the sig line phenomenon while NZ and I added reference to his (NZ's) deification almost sultaneously (He was first) but slightly after the beginning of the awarding and documenting of points. 
2 separate events (Deification and points) that happened in rather close proximity if I am recalling properly.

I'd been giving out points long before the unexpected deification ceremony thread. I brought the habit with me from another site's message forum, although I never fine-tuned the tallying and point system as I have here.

I am pretty sure Jeff was the first person I can remember having added the points to his sig line. Kia's right, though...it then began with you and Calla joining in on the fun and, well...considering my honor with having garnered friendly favor with people with the "CM rep" of that magnitude, it started catching on. [:)]
