Ooh fun...I'm Queen of Useless Trivia.

If everyone in the U.S. recycled all of their aluminium cans, the entire commercial air fleet could be rebuilt every 6 months.

Oh Lord...where to start?

The shark in Jaws was named after Speilberg's laywer for the picture.

What was supposed to have been the 4th of July beach panic was actually shot in February......if you'll notice in the shots where the band is practicing, you'll see that the trees have no leaves on them.

In the movies and mini-series that Stephen King wrote himself, he always had a walk on part....just like Hitchcock used to do.

Yeah, I love movie trivia.....

Edward Scissorhands (1990), directed by Tim Burton
In this film, Vincent Price portrays the only father that Edward Scissorhands ever had. Vincent plays the inventor who creates Edward Scissorhands but tragically dies before he can give him a pair of hands.
Vincent’s role was smaller than originally intended due to his poor health at the time. While filming his death scene, he passed out during one take. Tim Burton decided to use that take in the movie and it became Price's last screen appearance. The actor, who made an enormous contribution to the horror genre, died from lung cancer in October 1993.

-The movie was inspired by a drawing Tim Burton had done as a teenager.- The first draft was written as a musical.- Johnny Depp, who played Edward Scissorhands, had to lose 25 pounds for the role and says only 169 words throughout the movie. - You can see some of the topiary that Edward makes at the Tavern on the Green restaurant in New York City.

adult gulls have a red spot on their beaks.  the spot is a 'target' for the youngsters.  When the young peck at the spot, the adult regurgitates food.

the Chinese invented the toothbrush, centuries before the Brits got slammed withNOT using the toothbrush enough (RE visual stereotypes)

the first hacker was an AUSTRALIAN, contrary to popular Hollywoood bullcrap spindoctoring and marketing.  (the hacker War Games was about? he was Aussie)

the base colour for the Frankenstein Monster make-up in the first Universal version was greenish, because that showed up better in black and white filming techniques of the time...

stop motion animation was originally done in lay, but switched to a variant of rubber due to the fact that the heat from studio lights would melt the clay...

The long haired variety of the Saint Bernard was introduced after mating Newfoundlands with Saints because the puppy mortality rate was so high, and the monks were trying to save the breed.  They gave the long haired Saint Bernards away because the longer hair would get encased with ice when the dogs were used outside in the snow, and the resulting extra weight would fatigue the dogs.

wow.  who knew?

Freud's practice was made up of a number of women who talked to him about having been subjected to molestation as a child.  Because he couldn't fathom the idea that their stories were true, he talked with his best friend about it to get HIS opinion on what he was seeing in his therapy room.   The friend balked at such nonsense.  Of course it was all fantasy!  In response, Freud created the "oedipal complex" theory.

What Freud didn't know?  His best friend was a pedophile.

Welcome to Psych, the Untold Story.

Carravaggio's talent as a painter was only outstripped by his appalling behaviour and dangerous temper:  in a dispute over a moment in a tennis match, he used the racket as a weapon upon his opponent.  Picasso move over.

the main ingredient in common house dust is made from flakes of DEAD HUMAN SKIN.  ewwww, grody to the max!  Forget seeing dead people!  you're BREATHING dead people!

Ice Cream was invented in Asia.

Neither Russel Crowe nor Mel Gibson are actually Australian.

The true animated film was of a dinosaur.

The Human Torch did not begin with the Fantastic Four - originally he was an android that could burst into flame

Lost In Space was never expected to go longer than one season, and was intended to be a vehicle for the actor who played Professor John Robinson.  Looks like the power of the Queen trumped his Jack, har har...

When a whale beaches itself it does not die from being out of the water. It is so heavy that it's weight will crush its internal organs.

supposedly, there is no word that rhymes with orange

most humans shed a minimum of 50 - 70 scalp hairs per day

gila monsters are poisonous

generally, the SMALLER the scorpion, the deadlier it is (the big black ones are not the danger; the almost invisible brown tiny ones that get into your shoe or pocket are the ones to worry about)

Wow!  I had no idea.  And I LOVE Carravaggio!

In Casablanca, no one ever actually says "play it again, Sam."

hee!

In order to get a sufficient scream/terror reaction from the lead actress in the Exorcist - who had a MASSIVE gun phobia - the director Friedkin - with malice and intent - fired a gun on set, WITHOUT WARNING HER FIRST.

The following words end in "uum":

Vacuum
Continuum
Menstruum
Triduum

There is one and only one work that contains "uum" within it:

Muumuu

Roger Corman (yes, THAT Roger Corman) made the FIRST film version of the Fantastic Four (back in '94), but it was never released on DVD, nor in theatres for a true release.

although it WAS shown once on Cinemax, way back when...

and yeah, it was....  well, a Corman film.  He did not write or direct it though, but you have that nice, juicy Corman stank all over it.

I WILL say I prefer its Doctor Doom to the pansy-ass woosie boy from the 2005 one, wo did not even have a Latverian accent.
