My son just showed me this. I am not for one party or another... It is kind of freaky to imagine. lol

Ah Lockit, how are you, Luv? Well as possible i hope.
I have to agree with Lucylastic that this is a smear job.

First "Atlas Shrugs" is clearly a take on Ayn Rand's classic Conservative novel in which the good guys are heroic and pure Capitalists. And haven't they been just grand for productive investment these past 20 years? Ayn wrote her book back in the 1930s i think. Or maybe it was the 1950s. The perspective is a little dated in either event.

Secondly, looking at the advertisements in Atlas shrugs reveals it's rightwing bias.

Third, searched carefully through several editions of the Kokomo Perspective on line reveals nothing to justify calling it a local UAW based rag. Nothing but very good local news coverage and a bunch of obits.

Fourth, did a search of two editions for the flag pic and could not find it.

Fifth, just because Atlas says it was not photoshopped doesn't mean it wasn't. Oh, the frauds that are committed and denied.

Sixth, even if one family put up such a flag, doesn't tell us they are supporters of the current govt or detractors perpetuating a
propaganda fraud.

And Seventh, so what? Just a continuation of the opposition's attempt to delegitimize the current Administration. Same thing was done to Clinton and G.W.Bush. Rightwing conspiracies, Leftwing conspiracies, birther conspiracies, death panal conspiracies, just good old scuzy, dirty politics as usual.

Good to see you again, Lockit. Be well. *grins*

Stuff like this will do nothing to help the Obama administration succeed. They are hurting him more than helping him. Have you heard the school children singing songs in praise of the Messiah ?

Awwww please, give us a break. Here is a Fox News Report on the incident. The video was released to youtube in June but the incident took place in February as part of the school's Black History Month Celebration and in conjunction with President's Day. The children did not sing songs "in praise of the Messiah." they did voice Barack Hussein Obama's name, who happened to be the first African American President during the first Black History Month of his presidency. And some folks call that communist or nazi indoctrination? More smear, my dear!

Just so infantile. Breathless, what people will accept as truth at face value !!!!!

Aneirin -> RE: Obama American Flag? (10/13/2009 4:30:42 AM)

I just don't understand the fervour we see in the US for the presidency and the political razamataz that surrounds it, when the majority here in Britain treat leaders and politicians with suspicion and often contempt.

Are you brainwashed, or do you really have a belief that politicians aims are to make your life better ?

Yes, the ethos of a politician ideally is someone who wants to make things better for others, but do they really, or do they just stir the pot more, make it even more messy for the future.

Sanity -> RE: Obama American Flag? (10/13/2009 6:07:50 AM)

Obama's proving himself a moron well enough without any of my help, rule. Nearly a year in office now and he's raised taxes on the poor through his smoker's tax, but he's done little else even with a majority of his party in both houses of congress.

Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing.  I wonder if it has occurred to anyone to fly that model upside down?

No, but if they do, flying the flag upside down will become an immediate sign of racism.

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama American Flag? (10/13/2009 10:01:01 AM)

When the Blue jays were winning the World Series ,many years ago, One time a US Marine guard flew the Canadian flag upside down. It caused a big issue on this side, but every American I spoke to (also on chat progs on tv) said it was no big deal, that we should suck it up. I never had the same respect for flag "worriers" on the US side after that.
Most people cant tell when the Union Jack (UK) is flown upside down, but thats cos there is lots of ignorance over the right way. But the Canadian Flag looks like a communist marijuana leaf, kinda hard to get it the wrong way up.

Lucy

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama American Flag? (10/13/2009 10:42:02 AM)

I have massive issues with flying the flag, any flag, upside down. Then again, i grew up on military bases, learning the proper respect for the flag.

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama American Flag? (10/13/2009 11:21:48 AM)

My hubby served in the British army for 12 years back in the late 60's early seventies, he goes ballistic when the Union Jack is flown upside down (is how I know the difference)

Every american you spoke to? Approximately how many people was that? And you believe that represents the thoughts of all of us. Yea, well I guess it's a good thing I don't judge all Canadians on your thoughts and opinions.

Yea, me too, in fact I remember people having an absolute fit because some asshat flew the Canadian flag upside down. Not that I blamed them, in fact I agreed. I also have a problem with people changing it, like the op showed. I remember when the people across from my sister's old house hung a cross between a us flag and a rainbow flag. To me it is just wrong.

MarsBonfire -> RE: Obama American Flag? (10/13/2009 8:03:37 PM)

What? You think someone can't be Christian, gay, and a US citizen? Man, what a dark, limited little world you live in...

Yet come the 4th of July issues of girlie mags, swimsuits and fashion mags as well, you wont find anyone complaining about the ole red, white and blue sliding between some woman's thighs.

to me, the minute the stars and stripes are changed, its no longer the US Flag.
