DuchessSula -> Finding serious clients! (10/12/2009 9:20:19 PM)

I am so taken back by the rudeness of clients sometimes, how is it possible to weed out the time wasters from the actual sessions. Help! My patience is running thin.

On reading your profile, your standards may be too high if you want to make a successful career out of this. None the less, if you're seeking advice on making a successful career out of it, you may find better advice in the Ask A Mistress section.

Experience. You need to go and work with someone who has been doing this successfully for some time.

Agreed, and this:

I have no time for patehtic little worms who waste My time, if you feel that is something you would like to try you hand at, don't bother. The reaction you will recive will be less than desired if one is given at all.
If you would like to book a session with Me you can send me a message here and i will give you all contact information that is nessesary to compleat the process. Wouldnt you like to join the masses at my feet.

is going to attract men who get off on humiliation, which is probably exactly the kind of client you don't want.

you need to increase your tolerance level.

being impatient will solve nothing. perhaps you should lower your standards?

You are promoting a business. You have to make your business appealing to the customer base that you want. If it isn't appealing, you will not get the customers.

You have to decide, is this all going to be about me and what I want, or is it going to be a business and all about making money by serving my customers?

You need to remember your place. You are simply the hired help. you need them more than they need you. If you try to play your domme role without consent, you are more than likely going to get negative reaction. The best thing to do is automate your application process with the use of forms on an adult website you can design. You will of course need to be able to show proof of liability insurance as well as all county, city and state licenses for your business so that the client is comfortable that your establisment is not a front for prostitution

GreedyTop -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 8:37:39 AM)

I work at a hotel.  I wish like hell I could eliminate all the annoying twats that rent rooms. However, since THEY are paying to rent the rooms, it is my job to be as pleasant as possible, no matter how much I may wish to decapitate them, or throw them in a wood chipper (a la Fargo).

Ultimately, the GUEST is the one who provides funds for my paycheck.

Suck it up, buttercup.  if you're doing this as a business, remember that annoying customers are a given.  unless they are posing an actual threat to you, then plaster on a smile, get paid, and then dont see them again.

kiwisub12 -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 9:08:32 AM)

Boy, isn't that the truth, Greedytop. I work in a hospital and sometimes those whiny-arse patients get most annoying. Always wanting wanting wanting!!! When is it my turn????
If I could get rid of the patients the hospital would run so much more efficiently ! [;)]

and while we are at it - i should get paid SO much more for putting up with all the whining and crying!

kiwisub12 -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 9:17:43 AM)

ps - you might want to correct the spelling mistakes in your profile. I don't think it gives the impression you want.

lizi -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 11:55:23 AM)

It's a fact of life that a business is driven by its customers. The customers basically have all the power, they can choose to spend their money with you or somewhere else. You have to convince them to spend it with you, so basically you put up with their crap or you don't have a business.

My ex and I have several businesses and the part that sucks the most is dealing with customers. Unfortunately we need them. I can tell you after 14 years of being in business it never changes. Customers are spending their money and they feel justified in whatever shenanigans they get up to in the process of it.

The nature of your business is Domination but it doesn't really change the fact that you'll need a customer to be in business at all and you don't usually get to pick and choose who those customers are. You can try the lowly worm stuff as much as you want, but someone has to consent to give you their money in order for you to do it and to get to that point you have to perhaps accept that they're going to act like a douchebag. Perhaps I'm coming across as being a bit jaded but 14 years in the restaurant business has taught me that people can and do act like idiots and I still need them around in order to keep these businesses open. It's going to happen and ya can't be too picky...

*edited for punctuation mistake

CelticSubM -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 12:04:17 PM)

I suspect that most "clients" for commercial "dominatrices" fall into one of three groups: married men; affluent men who want to avoid commitment and are used to having what they want, when they want it, for money; and men who feel that they lack the social skills to have a relationship with a dominant woman in the ordinary way. (I say "feel that they lack" because the reality is that anyone who keeps looking is going to find somebody. There are lots of dominant women who are suckers for "losers" , just as lots of "vanilla" women are.) None of those groups is likely to be the most pleasant kind of person to be around, though there are probably individual exceptions. That's your customer base though, so you have to make the best of it, or find another line of business.

LadyPact -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 12:06:41 PM)

Maybe the serious clients are with those who don't consider themselves an expert at everything.

mnottertail -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 12:20:38 PM)

How about a header in your advert:

Serious clients only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or sumpin'?

FR, after read thru

Lots of excellent advice, above.

I was gonna lean towards snarking about age & inexperience, but after glancing at the profile I'm gonna talk about somethin' else: ballet.

I happen to think that having toiled en pointe & otherwise spending time working towards goals balletic is actually a rather excellent start to a career as a pro-dominant, lol . .. .

The discipline that led you to drill those pirouettes will provide you the tenacity to tolerate whatever comes your kinky way . . . . . Thicken your skin, toughen your hide, learn to enjoy the annoying, train your inner sadist to notice how painful it is to be those poor pathetic schmoe guys . . . . . .

kccuckoldmist -> RE: Finding serious clients! (10/13/2009 2:44:48 PM)

As others have written you’re seeking customers and customers are always right. A more sincere customer probably looks at your advertisement rolls their eyes and thinks rank amateur that has been reading and buying into too much cyber info.

A little humility and reality based in your advertisement. Realize you have to give what the paying customer wants and not just what you want besides cash.

Post on Pandemos and Max Fisch, and spend no time trying to recruit paying clients off of CM.  The pro's I know with profiles here are either active on the boards or seeking a life partner, not primarily looking for clients.  (I am ignoring the scammer profiles that are run primarily by men.)

A prodomme friend of mine transitioned her Facebook page from her personal page to her "professional" page.  I was her friend on FB before and after, and it was quite interesting.  Men who were actively talking with her were very "shy" (her word) to become her friend on Facebook.  Many sub men think of Facebook as closer to "real life" than CM, and they are not comfortable admitting that aspect of their sexuality, as it is suddenly outside the realm of fantasy.

If you post a fantasy-oriented profile on a site where many of the men are cruising fantasists, you will encounter a lot of guys who love to chat you up, but have no intention of meeting or giving you money.

Bottom line: prodomming is hard work.  Most women do it part-time, and burn out.  It's not the cash cow you might have thought it was.

you scare them off....geez, is that so hard to figure out?
