I also feel the love from our enemies.I feel much better that Iran will soon have a nuke, and are basically giving the finger to the Obama administration.

Perhaps you just don't believe in the notion of peace? Perhaps you think that a state of permawar is the only possible avenue.

You wouldn't be the only one: some people have been working hard for years to convince others that conflict resolution was an impossibility - the most recent ones were called "hawks": remember them?

slvemike4u -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:09:41 PM)

Let me see if I have this straight.....on the one hand we have a whole lot of gnashing of the teeth over Pres.Obama winning the damm thing seeing as he ,basically just assumed office.....and on the other hand he is to be scorned because N.Korea and Iran aren't playing nice....ie:pursuing Nuclear ambitions....as they have done for years.
Does that about cover it Thad and Sanity?

The right-wing nuts couldn't have dreamt of a better scapegoat, unfortunately [>:] .

Note: Sen. Olympia Snowe does NOT count as a nut, even though she's a member of the GOP. She's, err, respectable, which is more than can be said about the rest of her party.

servantforuse -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:23:57 PM)

She has always voted with democrats. She is a RINO.

kittinSol -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:28:18 PM)

Funny: I don't believe a word you say, and yet, the fact that you write this blatant mistruth about her makes her even more sympathetic in my eyes.

But back to the NPP...

servantforuse -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:33:30 PM)

I'm pretty sure that she was born in Kenya.

slvemike4u -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:34:57 PM)

Can she produce a birth certificate?

kittinSol -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:35:06 PM)

There ya go.

Lucylastic -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:35:33 PM)

Really Intelligent Not Obnoxious?

kittinSol -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:37:11 PM)

Republican In Name Only - the term was coined by some hysterical conservative crazy chick who decided that certain members of her party weren't "conservative enough" - in short, a kind of Hitler in a (pleated) skirt.

servantforuse -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:38:56 PM)

I think that Hannity is looking for her birth certificate as we speak. She grew up in a hut next door to Obamas brother.

kittinSol -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:40:37 PM)

Gotta love the humour - pure teabagger stylee  [&:] .

Well I had all kinds of acronyms goin on, that was the most pleasant seeing as she had the testicular fortitude to vote for some kind of reform. I think it ill cost her big time, but  we shall see.

servantforuse -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 6:52:27 PM)

It will cost her nothing. She is a moderate and that is putting it mildly. Republicans know how she votes as there is a pattern. The Baucus bill will go no where anyway as the public option is not in it. The House wants it in, The Senate cannot get the votes to put it in.

tazzygirl -> RE: Nobel Peace Prize (10/13/2009 7:26:21 PM)

The Baucus version will pass. The two versions will go to committee to be hashed out. We wont know whats in the final version that goes before Obama till then.

Mike,

I didn't say they weren't playing nice... they are both offering to share their toys now.  Hell the Bush administration fucked up a whole lot of things, but the one things some of the world's wackiest understood was he was not afraid to share our toys with them.  Don't read that last sentence as me supporting Bush, because I didn't and don't just referring to his willingness to fight back or even preemptively, which did at least in my opinion keep some of the nutcase dictator on a bit of a shorter leash.  I could and probably am wrong on that.

I am hoping with all of my heart that our current president is able to put an end to some of the hostility in the world, I just worry about the possible cost.

As always,
Thadius

Well, at least we know what the "flavor of the month" is going to be for the GOP nutbaggers...   "The Great Nobel Prize Conspiracy"

I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hannity is still looking for someone to waterboard him.

Oh, she'll be fine. She took 74% of the votes in her last election; they adore her up there, and she's got political capitol to burn.

It could be, however I doubt it.  There will be plenty of action going on in both sides of Congress this month.  I think the congressional activities will soon make this award a distant memory.  Then again there is no telling with the nutbaggers on either side.
