Tantriqu -> Google failed me: What's his face? (10/15/2009 11:07:34 PM)

Hi, would appreciate the name of the vintage ?Japanese/Asian? artist who drew a lot of BDSM sketches, precursors to anime, of biiiiig women facesitting/smothering bound lean little asian men.
The women usually had long dark straight hair, and were frequently smokers, so perhaps 1950's. The drawings were usually B&W cartoons with pale washes, usually in reds.

Thanks!

Namio Harukawa? I'm probably spelling that wrong; let me go google it...

That looks like him.

There was a Western artist who copied his style and replaced the Asian faces with American/European ones, if I remember correctly. But there were still the same big butts! :D

Milo Manara? The style of the Harukawa stuff looks quite similar to him.

Perfect! Thanks. My old link had been discontinued, then found only a surprising number of pics without his name.
And your link led me to the pic I was looking for [think OSODD whack-a-mole].
Thanks again, TDP.

Actually that whole site has some yummy pics on it if you delve deep....just what I needed today more eye candy to keep me out of trouble:)

Moonhead -> RE: Google failed me: What's his face? (10/16/2009 7:31:37 AM)

I'm surprised you can't find any Manara: I think he's the most famous living Italian comics artist at the moment, and he's definitely a bum man. He had a lot of stuff in Heavy Metal during the '90s, a lot of which has since been reprinted by NBM.
Try doing a google search for his individual comics: there's a lot there fro Gullivera, including quite a bit of art.

He did The Art of Spanking a few years ago.

Lol, thanks! And I've never thought of Blake as a adjectival phrase before, although I was often seen Blaking, Burnsing and Marvelling on street corners as a teen waiting for the bus.
