This isn't a serious post but just an observation and it would be interesting to know what others thought.

Its regarding the voice of a man. I tend not to notice a mans voice unless it is particularly deep or particularly high pitched. I was with a crowd of people the other night and one particular guy stood out because of his height, his good physique and his strong featured face but when he started to talk he had an overly high pitched voice. I went from thinking 'mm he's quite hot' to not being at all attracted to him. Don't get me wrong, he was a nice guy and good company but it made me realize that all the relationships I have had have been with deep voiced men. It also made me realize that a huge part of Steves physical attraction on the dominant side of things was a lot to do with his deep voice.

Any thoughts?

oh yep, indeed...my casual Dom here he has a deep voice and gosh he knows how to make me shiver with his voice and wording...and yep, alan rickman can do that, too

The pitch of the voice doesn't matter to me unless it's so high pitched that he sounds like a girl...total turnoff...but it's in the command and confidence of the voice.

I don't *need* a deep voice, but certainly someone who knows how to alter the tone and timber of his voice for that stern effect...yeah, I do need that.

And I agree, the deep growl is very sexy.

while i can admit an attraction to a deep voice, i wouldn't put it on my list of must have's. the tone and his ability to use it in a manner that affects me is more important. although if he sounded very feminine that would be a different mind fuck altogether.

I love the sound of a man's voice. I can just hear some men talk and I get shivers down my spine.

I have no idea what causes it, but it makes me want to listen to whatever he is saying..even if it's just "clean up on aisle 7".

Edited because I went and looked up Alan Rickman. I knew the second I saw his pic what his voice sounded like and I totally agree with all the above about him.

I'm not attracted to a certain type of voice. What interests me is what he talks about, and how. His thoughts and ideas, and how he uses his voice to convey concern, compassion, respect...

My first interaction with my Owner was his voice. He has a smoky, Gentleman Jack whiskey baritone with a Southern drawl tacked on top. First time I ever heard it, I knew I was in deep trouble. I'm very sound-oriented, so a man's voice has a very powerful effect on me. I'm a sucker for accents and low-range voices, from a sexual point of view.

Addressing what Littlewonder said: Yes -- the voice can be yummy and all that, but if he doesn't have that self-confidence and strength... it doesn't matter what it sounds like. From a submissive point of view - It won't make my knees melt. It's the complex elements that make someone a dominant that comes out in their voice that is the *really* dangerous part.

Now, if his voice is a low, husky Southern drawl, and he speaks commandingly, confidently, intelligently? I've got so many buttons pushed I just don't know what to do with myself except drop to my knees and beg to suck...

Sheez, thank you for that littlewonder. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I posted and said, "I just can't see someone as submissive unless they are size 2, blond, and less than 5'4" in height."

For me, I recognize both dominance and submission in someone based upon their demeanor.
