My child probably won't appreciate this when he/she's older, but that's what parents are for... perceived embarrassment.

So here it goes. I'm five months pregnant and I find out my baby's gender on the fifteenth of this month. The majority, including myself and my husband, think it's going to be a boy. Only two people total think it's going to be a girl.

What's your vote? Is it going to be a little boy or a little girl? Or knowing how I was when I was little, is it going to be a little demon? Cast your vote now so that you can gloat if you get it right. You have a 50/50 chance, after all.

I LOVE BABIES! Congratulations!

My late husband and I thought certainly we were destined to parent a male. All my nocturnal inclinations were boy,boy,boy. Guess we were wrong, wrong, wrong. We waited for baby's arrival to know for sure and damn were we surprised. She was named for her father. So my vote, based on you and your husband's feelings, is to go the other way. I really REALLY wanted a girl, and got a boy. So if you and hubby are happy about boy, i vote girl. They call nature a Mother for a reason. lol

Of course I'll be happy with whichever I get. Having a healthy baby is the most important thing. With that said, I want a girl! I want to decorate her nursery as an enchanted forest with little purple fairies, dammit. Oh well. My vote's still for a boy.

I vote boy for no other reason than I am a male. My two are boys and for that I am glad because if they were girls, I would not allow them to even look at a boy until they were 30 or so... not that I am overprotective or anything.

Actually, it's a cute idea....if it's a boy, why not the forest with Hobbit-type characters? Elves, toadstools, etc?

Very good idea! Thanks. I've been getting plans prepared for a nautical theme if it's a boy. One half of the room would be daytime, the other half night time on the ocean, with boats and sea gulls. I like the enchanted forest theme a lot more, but I think it will be easier to do a nautical theme. I'll see how my current project goes (a textured story book for my niece's first birthday about a princess who finds a phoenix in an enchanted forest), and if it's too hard on paper it'll probably be too hard in real life. Fortunately my pseudo-sister is a brilliant artist and has offered to help me with the nursery as a baby gift. Woot. Now I'm motivated.

I vote girl, which doesn't entirely rule out the demon factor, since my daughter is convinced HER daughter is demon spawn, which would, in turn, make HER a demon, yes? I dunno... are you or your spouse part demon?

I know the feeling. If I have a girl I won't sleep a wink after she turns 10. Women in my family have become progresively more sexually liberal. My girls will be swinging from the chandeliers when they're 12...
