Maybe eventually they will re-open research into LSD and psilocybin to treat addiction and ease the pain of the terminally ill.

Let's bring back LSD research into everything. Can't be all a bad trip: I mean, there is always the Acid Test .

Oh, completely agreed. I just figured I had to spin the medical virtues of it rather than the cerebral and spiritual simply for the benefit of the thread.

i'm wondering if this decision will affect corporate pre-employment drug testing? Pro'bly not now that the precedent has been set...sigh.

Did your brains ever experience the E? Coz I'm not sure from the postings...

E is seriously wonderful: a lovely thing. A marvel. Unexpected. Amazing.

With all these other psychedelics, has anyone given DMT a shot?

No, I don't see how it would. It's still illegal. I don't see how this would cause any employer to change their policies.

Never had the pleasure of DMT m'self. It always sounded like something i'd enjoy immensely though.

But it would be legal within state assigned guidelines.
Employers don't have a choice really, it's the insurance fuddy duddy's who require the testing...(people with starched white shirts and narrow black neckties).

It depends on the job, though. For instance, if you want to work in transportation, most companies won't hire you if you tests positive, period - medical user or not. If you smoke dope, you're not getting behind the wheel of one of their trucks or buses, and that's that. Lots of other fields will be the same way - as you say, because of the insurance companies. I don't see it changing much, because almost any type of work involves operating some sort of machinery or something else that could be considered a safety hazard for people who are impaired.

That's supposed to be great for counseling (wasn't it used to assist therapy before it was criminalized?)

Yeah, MDMA along with several "research chemicals" with 2c-x derivatives have been shown to aid in counseling.

A lot of folks miss the point completely on the medical marijuana debate.  The government wants to be our "parents" and not let the patient and doctor mutually decide what is the best drug for use for their particular affliction.  I kinda find it ludicrous that a doctor can prescribe morphine but not cannabis.  On the other hand, fraudulant recreational use should be treated just like Fraudulent use of Oxycontin.  Give em a radio show and $400 million

Sanity -> RE: Feds (Obama) to stop prosecuting medical marijuana users (10/21/2009 6:53:18 AM)

Well, if they're paying for our health care and providing us with all our other essentials they kind of are our parents and since they're being asked to pay the bills why shouldn't they have the right to tell us what we may or may not do with our bodies?

Wait...You can get pot in a pill??

not exactly.

The active ingredient of Marinol is synthetic delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. which means Marinol contains one THC isomer. Marijuana contains a whole bunch of different cannabinoids, all of which contribute to its effect.

anyone this slave has ever known that was prescribed Marinol threw it away and went with the real thing, instead.

Lucylastic -> RE: Feds (Obama) to stop prosecuting medical marijuana users (10/21/2009 11:58:54 AM)

My problem with the pill is it is often prescribed for people with severe nausea, from chemo for instance, and expecting the pill to stay down long enough to work is silly. ingesting the compounds through the lungs is a much better solution.

Your all a bunch of fucking druggies.....I'm appalled and will no longer associate with any of you!
