giggles... Yes, I have acertained his preference for the natural. He also does not allow perfumes, strong soaps or deodorants, etc. I love it on the one hand, but you guys see my picture. I feel ever loving naked without my make up! Evil genius seems to fit!

lovingpet

I can totally understand that lovingpet. I do wear makeup but I don't wear perfumes or use strong soaps and I don't like Steve to wear aftershave or anything that takes away his natural bodily smell.
We get so hung up on all this smelling sweet stuff. We fill our houses with air freshners and polish our furniture with putrid smelling polish. We have come to believe that the natural smell isn't pleasant and I think that's pretty sad.
The only smell I want to wake up to in the morning is fresh ground coffee and the natural scent of my partner.

When Steve and me first got together I would carefully apply my makeup and straighten my hair but one of the first things he ever did to me (which was hugely humiliating at the time) was to put me in the shower, wash my hair and scrub every last trace of makeup off my face!. I wanted to sink into the ground when he dried me off and then putting his face close to mine said 'now lets have a look at you'

hehe.. Hiyaz Mr. Ron!!

I'm still in Portugal, heading to Italy with Himself for a week on Nov 8th, then out to visit the family in CA for most of Dec. Mainly, I've been fighting with my Internet and trying to stay connected to the less than slavey Portuguese servers! I have the G3 card this week, though, since Himself is in Germany, so I'm zipping along!

Of course, I have no way of knowing, but the first thing that popped into my mind, is that if he intends on causing you pain, perhaps he doesn't like the idea of mascara running down your face from crying and spoiling your natural beauty?

Oh but running mascara is soooo hot

I like all these things, if only occasionally, but he seems to adore me all the more the morning after than the night before simply because I am plain, raw, and have none of those things around to hide behind. I am only allowed to brush my hair. He may fix it as he wishes or leave it loose. No make up, no perfumey stuff, no adornments such as jewlery unless it is approved beforehand. Aside from time we go out to eat, no clothing either. Just me. Just him. I do so like that, but it always seems difficult to handle when I am going out the door to go meet him. I could well imagine him doing just what Steve did with you. Maybe it really is about literally stripping away the masks and disguises I wear. Interesting to say the very least.

lovingpet I would be celebrating this if I were you. He loves you for the beautiful woman you are without all the added extras. He loves you bare foot and naked, he loves the natural you.
Makeup is something we learn to hide behind from our teenage years and I agree that having no makeup can make us feel just as naked and vulnerable as going without clothes but once you lose that vulnerable feeling and understand that your still desirable, more desirable then isn't that a new found freedom?

It really is cool! It is still something that I am getting used to (read LOTS of self image issues), but I adore how completely desired, accepted, and wanted it makes me feel. This thread was not at all a complaint. I just love working at figuring him out sometimes. This very subject and his requirements are part of what encourages me to believe that he and this relationship is very good for me.

FR, after read thru

My ex didn't like the goos & potions & unguents, physically. He liked to touch, to kiss, & etc & he didn't like kissing lipstick. He didn't like the way foundation makeup & etc feels to the touch. He didn't want to have to think about 'smearing mascara' or any of that.

& he didn't like perfume even tho' his sense of smell was pretty atrophied, weirdly enough . ... .

Um, not that I wear makeup except once in a while, but he explained his enjoyment of the no-makeup thing, & no one else offered this idea up, so, do with it as you will . . . . .

I think it is very sensory for him and not just smell or visual. The more I think about it, the more I think there's a lot of things playing into it. The main one though, I still think, is getting me stripped down as bare and organic as possible.

Well this answer is surely going to blow my evil genius status... assuming I had any. But honestly, if I gave such a command, it'd almost certainly be driven by nothing more deep than a simple preference. Who knows? Perhaps I saw your face this one time in the morning light and it just stuck... It could be anything but it almost certainly wouldn't be anything big. Now... if I saw you flinch when I gave the command... *chuckles*... well that might introduce a whole new set of motives.

Have you ever had your dominant partner give a command or set a rule that just left you scratching your head as you obeyed in a sort of confused glaze?

i used to do that and spend hours chewing on things and come away tired without any answers so i stopped. but now i have another habit instead. it is usually related to behavior or something that is said. the latter is always amusing. especially if the Person manages to trip me up. or put me in a corner where i'm going to answer something i was totally trying not to talk about.

that happened recently and i could only laugh and take my hat off to the Person. after uttering fuck of course! which was followed by damn He's good! i had to give Him kudos for His skill. being the consistent girl i am it happened again of course.

I made a decision to not wear make up based on some feminist and self-acceptance ideals.
Questions like, why do women have to ‘put on a face’?  Why do we feel the need to enhance or hide behind make-up?  Think about the name; to “make up’ stuff is to pretend.
I have on occasions worn it, but it has been so long I recently went through my bathroom drawers and pitched everything because it was old and unusable.
Just some thoughts!

My guesses would be (1) chemical sensitivities/allergies, (2) personal preference for natural beauty, or maybe (3) watching you squirm because He knows you like to wear make-up.  Or all of the aforementioned.  I used to know Someone who had sensitivities, and then Sir just liked me the way I was, with or without.

Porcelaine: Yup, I find it useless to turn over the same rock time and again. This is just fun though to see what different perspectives people have. I have found myself backed into so many corners that I have decided to place a comfy chair there for my frequent visit. LOL

catize: I think that is part of it for him too, the pretense and falseness.

sweetsub: I would guess at least two out of the three. I have no idea about the sensitivities, both the others are probably on point.

omg i totally had a blonder on this one. *lol*

i think the consensus is probably correct. it is good that you can be au natural without feeling weird or rushing to put on makeup before he sees you.

i've never had those kind of restrictions but i'm really conservative about makeup and scents. i keep my face simple and flawless. only two shades for my lips, nails, and toes. as for scents, i have a few i prefer but i avoid mainstream stuff and opt for classics. my restrictions or commentary usually involve my hair and style of dress. going to sassoon always gives me ideas that would probably land me in trouble.

Nahhh, I still feel weird, but little by little I am getting over myself.

Oh forget the whole hairstyle thing. I had better not cut it or otherwise mess with it in any way beyond brushing out. He has his own plans for HIS girl's hair. Oh, and there are the clothing restrictions, but those are....uh..... private..... *blush*

if it were up to me i'd hack it off and throw some cool color in. however, that will never fly. i'd be shocked and then some. as for the clothes, don't be shy. caring is sharing.

Fraid I'll have to remain demure in that little matter. Oh, by the way would that just get you shocked or perhaps something more drastic? *snickers*
