From NYT the other day.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/18/opinion/18rich.html?_r=2&th&emc=th

And this one which points out how numbers have been fudged by BoA and Citigroup in an effort to keep gov't from passing more aggressive legislation. "Look, you don't need to be involved, because we're good shape now." I swear you could find these dynamics in any lay persons transactional analysis book from the 70's: "Look mom/dad how much better I'm doing now. And I promise it won't happen again.

Draw your own conclusions.

They put a band aid on the problem. With an estimated 1 trillion dollar deficit and then some for each of the next 1o years, they have fixed nothing. Obama is having a fund raising event tonight with wall street execs. $30,400 per ticket for dinner and a chance to meet the pres.

Servant when I said "they" it was a decidedly non-partisan "they"....somehow you translate that to Obama,Tarp began under a republican administration....those pesky little details will get you every time.

The problem there is no one can agree on "who supported this mess".The finger pointing will usually break down along party lines.....please see Servant's psot for a prime example.

Goldman Sachs and other big banks demonstrate the strength to take all they can.
Isn't it the basic neo-liberal economics idea: business business is business. Hopefully the
shareholders get also something. In general: Fleecing of America as long as there is something to take.
