Food Ad Tricks

Some of this I have seen before, and some is new to me, but if you have never seen any of this it's amazing what they do to make it all look appealing.

I knew a food stylist who had the perfect pot of coffee in the freezer. He'd thaw it out, use it and refreeze it. Most coffee has oils on it which don't look good. He managed to de-oil a pot once and saved it since it was so much work getting it in the first place.

I don't know..that woman's hairstyle and the kitchen equipment she is using in the video looks pretty dated..I am sure they have new "tricks of the trade" by now..In fact, I have seen a few competitions for food stylists in the last few years on The Food Network that spotlight this but I love any video about food so it was fun to watch!

Part of the problem is also that food just doesn't tend to look good on camera.  It can look great sitting in front of you but put the camera on it, look at the monitor and the result is ewww.  That doesn't go for just fast food burgers but real food as well.
