Status: offline 		Has Yahoo messenger got a load of vulnerabilities?

Nearly everyone I 'meet' online asks for a yahoo address....not an MSN or anything, but yahoo. Most addresses given away by the fakes are yahoo.

Is it particularly vulnerbale as a chat medium?

However, I use my yahoo address for people I don't know...ooor people that don't use msn. Msn is my primary messegner though. I don't really give a shit who has my yahoo or not but I'm frantic when it comes to my msn addy

Status: offline 		they can get at you, with messengers of all types, yeah........windows listens on alotta ports, once they have your addy they can go on in and play..........

get comodo firewall, (via majornetgeeks) and watch the inbound ip use requests (attacks)........

Status: offline 		Since I've seen that advert featuring the woman in the shiny red dress I've been giving yahoo second thoughts.

Since she was standing in the middle of nowhere without a PDA or Laptop I think the chances of meeting her on yahoo messenger are slim to none thus it didn't fool me.

Status: offline 		No more than any other IM service. many of these idjits wanting you to email them want your yahoo addy to send you spam and more spam! Yahoo messenger is my primary email though I am selective to who I pass it on to.

Status: offline 		Well I never use yahoo for email so they can send all the spam they like!

Am not on Windows, either, maybe macs have more protection anyway.

Just struck me that before you've hardly said hello the first thing they want to do is to go to yahoo messenger!

Status: offline 		When I IM with anyone I prefer Yahoo simply because it is a lot more user friendly and more robust than the other options

Status: offline 		I hate Yahoo. I don't use Yahoo, period, for anything except Yahoo groups. Everything else they do, somebody else does better, and usually with a lot fewer software conflicts. I won't even install Yahoo messenger on either of my computers because of all the problems it causes with my security software. If anyone wants to chat with me, they need to use MSN or it's no dice.

Isn't it funny how every combination of software is unique, with it's own individualized set of conflicts and incompatibilities? MSN runs clean as a whistle on both my machines, while Yahoo is practically a virus. Other people, it's the opposite. Weird, isn't it?

Status: offline 		Yahoo messes with the art and photography packages I have and when uninstalling, leaves lots of poop behind that is really difficult to remove.  So I do not use it anymore and haven't for years.
