Termyn8or -> I remember part two ? (10/23/2009 12:52:28 AM)

BK's thread is great, but what about an updated version ? The young of today, what will they remember ?

Man when I got the ipod upgrade to 30GB, man it was cool.

When I got my first cellphone. (at age five)

When those two buildings fell down in new york.

Spongebob Squarepants.

Teletubbies.

The really cool MP3 player in Mom's car.

The day our Pekinese got out and licked some lady's leg and they put Daddy in jail. You should've seen all the bright flashing lights. Mommy said it would be alright.

The day I got a new bike when we won a lawsuit because a girl punched me in the arm at school.

The day I saw my first toy gun. It was really old and was made out of this stuff I can't quite describe. It was shiny and heavy and I couldn't make any teethmarks in it no matter how hard I tried. It didn't work anyway when I tried to shoot the cat. He did not lay down and play dead like he's sposed to. Does anyone know what those things were made out of ? I have never seen it anywhere else. It seems like the stuff pots and pans are made from, but I can't be sure.

thinking of my three year old, i hope the monetary things are far down on his list of memories.
Instead, i hope he remembers that Mommy was always there to kiss a boo-boo and make it better, to chase away the bad dreams and rock him back to sleep, to dry his little tears and give him a smile, and was always ready with a hug and a cuddle.

I hope he remembers the times when Daddy would have an extra cup of coffee so he could take him to the park, or sit on the floor and play yet another round of flashcards, or play HideandSeek to the point of exhaustion. I hope he remembers Daddys patience, calmness, and understanding.

I hope he remembers that Mommy would tell him she was sorry for yelling at him and for being short tempered at times. I want him to remember the first time Mommy lifted him onto a saddle, then let go and stepped back. I hope he didn't see the tears in my eyes when i had to let him ride on his own.

I want him to recall these things before anything else.

And I'm sure he'll have TONS of fond memories of his mom going "SPLAT", ::thud::, and "OOF"!  [:D]

I remember my daughter's wedding day.
I remember being the 1st to hold my oldest grandum right after he was born.
I remember all the great vacations we took, just the 2 of us.
I remember how sweet it is to be hugged tightly by a toddler, how they put their forehead against mine and grabbed my cheeks to rub noses.
I remember taking each one for their 1st trip to amusment parks & the thrill of it all as they explored what they wanted to ride.

****I like this thread better than the other one. I don't have many fond memories growing up & each time I tried to post something something bad shoved it aside***

I have alot of really nice memories of my childhood.

I can see my sister in how she is raising her UMs.   She lets them experience as much as possible.   Of course for a long time- I was  a blame the parents- as the schools seemed to teach.

But in retro spect- I dont see it that way.

One thing to be concerned about- each month we lose more old timers- and they are key to not making mistakes we made in history....
