To the OP, it would be funnier if it were your sister or girlfriend.

And I'm with Holly, this isn't funny.

I have a question and or statement depending how you look at it.I'm just wondering if it would be as hillarious if that was your sister, mother, girlfriend or even your wife that was being viewed in such a callous way,and being mocked in such a personal way.I'm sorry to me that's not humor and I would probably go to hell sticking up for her and we've never met.But that's just me I always have rooted for the underdog.

What on earth is remotely funny about this? Seriously people it just makes me sick that anyone could laugh at this or for that matter make tha video

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: I'm going to hell... (10/23/2009 3:52:55 PM)

Perhaps it was funny to you, but it wasn't funny to me. And the music dubbed in over it wasn't funny either.

NOT FUNNY AT ALL.

My heart goes out to this poor woman.

Whoever made that video is a cruel, insensitive jerk. If I knew who it was, I'd be sorely tempted to break their arm.

Well, it's remotely funny because her movements resemble the way some people try to dance and thus can be put to music.

I don't see what's not to understand really.

yes but unlike those people she doesn't get to stop, this is her life. A bit more sensitivity would be nice but I guess that is too much to ask.

For the Internet?  Absolutely.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: I'm going to hell... (10/23/2009 10:18:27 PM)

The part where it shows her running and talking normally, but if she stops, then she's back to the odd walk, was that fake?

Aanakaris -> RE: I'm going to hell... (10/23/2009 11:13:54 PM)

No, that's a symptom of the syndrome and even more frustrating to the people involved. One of my co-workers Uncle had the same thing happen several years ago after a flu shot. He gets partial paralysis and other neurological symptoms. The syndrome is treatable but not curable and treatments reduce symptoms but do not eliminate them. Imagine not being able to feed yourself, pet a dog, use the toilet, or any of the many, many things we all take for granted without even thinking of, all because you tried to stay healthy by getting a vaccination.

That being said, only 1 in 250,000 were affected in this manner and 1 in 50 die from the flu. Do the odds, figure your risks and I personally recommend getting vaccinated. I'll be first in line for the swine flu shot (well maybe not, I think pregnant women are actually first in line.)

and to the above, I agree with so many others, this is tragic, not funny. It's freedom of speech that they can do this, it's also freedom of speech that I can call them a reprehensible scum bag ass-hole shit-fucker for even considering it, much less making the video. May they die a horrible, slow tragic death that makes this woman's affliction look like a mild case of discomfort.

Not at all fake.

Dystonia is referred to as a movement disorder.

http://www.wemove.org/dys/dys.html

It can be triggered by medications, happen for reasons unknown or be genetic.

"Writer's cramp" is actually a form of dystonia.

Think about how totally exhausting it must be to have that amount of unwanted movement.
