The plane in question last i heard had an old flight deck recorder that only records 30 min.

the newer ones record 2 hours i believe they said on the news. Why would anybody be arguing over/under an hour over rules and regs. Do they think we are stupid? They fell asleep!

they should have their rear ends booted. Now should Pilots and Stewards/Stewardesses be flying a lot under a specific amount of time until they are exhausted...NO....I don't know what their schedules are but this might be an example of it..

Fuck all that, I could drink a twelve pack and fly that thing. I wouldn't want to, but if I had to oh well. People just can't handle booze anymore. I know guys who can drink a fifth of 151, and have not one problem at all. Get stopped for speeding, get your ticket. Like me on Labor day 2007, I had PLENTY of beer in me but I wasn't drunk. The cops never even brought it up. I walked.

My failing eyesight has led me to reevaluate a few things. Like the old saying being able to do it with your eyes closed. Well more and more frequently I am reaching my hand into places I can't see anyway. Will I eventually be a blind TV technician ? 

Face it, some people can just drive, no matter what, others are on the edge. Some can barely drive and shouldn't even be allowed a radio in the car, others that try to do as many things as possible while driving should be shot. Same shit for pilots.

If anyone remember I think Rondney Carrington ? sitting at the bar "Dude wake up and give us a ride home, we'll buy you a beer whaddya say ?". That is for real though, some people can turn the buzz off just like that. I have, but I can't seem to get the hang of it doing it by choice. I suspect I am close, but no, not like some of the people I have seen.

Nothing works really except due diligence on everyone's part. Daily testijg means shit. And it would wash out some of the best people maybe as well. Because I smoked a joint two weeks ago I can't fly, but this other guy can even if he's drunk still from the orgy last night and the cocaine hydrochloride just BARELY got out of his system in time ? Gimme a break, all this buncha fuckin shit just doen't work, and we all know it.

When people don't care, the don't care that they don't care.

Turns out they were so engrossed in their scheduling on their laptops which is against airline rules in the cockpit that they missed their destination.

Those schedules must be pretty complicated!

Thorny, you're right......that's because there are no TSA employees or checkpoints in Greyhound stations.  The article stated that it was a team of TSA emplyees doing a spot check......big deal.  I took a greyhound across the country not too long ago, and not only was there no TSA, but people left their luggage sitting unattended in the lines at the gates for their buses to hold their spots.  The bus stations did have security, but it was a local security company located in the city of the station, not anything national or federal.  And they were there more to run off the homeless/loiterers.  There were signs posted that your luggage was subject to search, but in the dozen or so stations I stopped at, no one was ever searched.

Amtrak stations are in major train stations across the country for the most part.  Luggage is checked in from the starting destination to the final destination, just like the airports.  The stations have armed security/police officers on the tracks and in the station areas, usually through a Metro Authority.  The smaller train station stops are usually just a small building next to the tracks with a parking lot for folks meeting or using the trains.  Again, no TSA personnel or presence.

And turning on the OnStar?  puh-leeeeze.....the op is again seeing conspiracy thoeries where there are none.....
