A little background:

About six months or so ago my boyfriend purchased an anal hook. This was around the time that I first became receptive to anal play. The hook was hanging from a plant hook in our living room. This made me giggle every time I entered the room. It's not crucial to the post, but a fun tidbit all the same.

So here's why I love my anal hook- a top ten list:

10. It can be made hot or cold or whatever fits your mood.
9. It's easily cleaned and sterilized.
8. It's not too big for even an anal novice like myself.
7. It can be tied off to just about anything using the convenient ring.
6. The ball at the end feels just as good going in as coming out.
5. It holds vibrations fabulously.
4. It's less severe than its appearance- it looks scary as hell, but it's really quite doable.
3. It's a great addition to sex and bondage.
2. The ball rubs up against anything you put inside your girlie bits for even MORE sensations.
1. It can easily be worn under clothes for that all important but embarrassing walk outside.

I really have nothing bad to say about this wonderful device. You can make it super sensual or you can make it hurt. There's really no end to the possibilities.

I'm in love.

Would the hook with the wooden "T" bar handle held in the hand with sharp steel hook protruding from between the fingers and used to move bales (especially wool bales) do?

I have owned a surgical steel anal hook for years but never had it used on myself.
I agree that the hook is great for use in bondage and my hook has a ring on the outside end that you can attach a leash to.
Sounds like your having a lot of fun.

I bought one for my Sir for Christmas last year - i got it from Twisted Monk. It is available with the ball in three different sizes.. And Sir bound my hair to the ring so every time his caned me and i moved, the hook moved as well! Very intense.

Oh my. Anal hooks have been way up there in my fantasy list, but haven't tried it as of yet.

The boyfriend got his on the fetlife deal of the day months ago.

Also, the ball detaches (or at least it does on mine) to make cleaning a little easier so you could probably change the ball size at any time.

Oh wow.

I cant say they have appealed to me and as you say look very scary (mind you I love a little menace to get the body going)
