I often hear of abuses by men on this site. And I do understand, but then, it goes both ways. I have had at least three situations where women mis-represented themselves - especially in their pics. For example, right now, there is a posting by a young brunette girl on here (girl?) saying she is from Illinois and looking only for women. Yet at the same time, the same (3) pictures appear for a girl with UK in her name saying she is looking for a Dom. The managers of this site need some way to let people out such frauds, as it hurts everyone - including the site owners. I hope action is taken soon.

I guess the way I look at it is this-- It's a free site and we're all adults. There are a lot of precautions that can be taken to avoid harm. I figure that while misrepresentation is a hassle, its' also easily caught as soon as you meet in person. If someone says they're a 20-something blonde female, and they're relaly a 48y/o male that becomes apparant the first time you see each other. Too, pictures are easily stolen online. I've run into a couple people using my pictures as their own on other sites. Not nice, but not really fixable. Even right-click disablers don't work. Again, problem is solved as soon as you meet the person face to face. I don't want to have to pay for this site, because if it went that way I'd have to leave, and I really like it here. I figure that the way it's run works pretty darn well. There's the option of reporting profiles, for those tat are flagrant violations, and the option of requiring webcams, or new photos, or phone calls, or fast meetings for those of you who are looking for primary partners. ~shrug~

Maybe that's why you are free to browse profiles and hit the "next" button when you see one that isn't what you are looking for. Maybe she's both. Maybe for part of the year she lives as a lesbian in IL, and another part of the year she lives in the UK as a hetero fem sub. Maybe she has MPD. Maybe not. Why is it that these posts are always the first posts that the poster makes? I mean, it would really be easier to unload ALL my sarcastic remarks on someone that's not new. I really hate holding back like this, but I don't want to blast a newbie.

I came on this sight back in Nov.. screwed up my profile, fixed it 2 other times. Jotted in journal... the whole damn thing was ignored... and was still pegged as a Fake. Ok fine then. I'm a fake. I never claimed to be slave... i'm too out spoken... got a mind of my own... and can actualy think for myself. And because I have the qualities about myself.. i'm labeled a fake.. I have but one response to this........ GO SCREW YOURSELF! What makes me a fake to others... makes me the perfect one for Master Sinful.... and that's all that matters. Coffee anyone?.... [:D]

Kinda reminds me of the shock in my students' eyes when they encountered me off campus. Sorta "gee, you have to shop for food?" What do they thing... the bursar comes by and turns me off after each lecture?

People lie and misrepresent themselves? How did I miss that memo? Never expect people online to act appropriately, or in a way that you find acceptable. Be happily surprised when they do.

I agree with what everyone has said so far. I kinda stood on my head and looked at the OPS concerns from a different angle as well, which bought up the question "What is the responsibility of a dating service?" After all, one of the objects of this site is to bring people together, find matches etc. I've never used a dating service, nor do I use this site for such, but many people do. Does a dating service have any responsibility toward the people they are bringing together? What checks are made to ensure someone is who they say they are, if any? If someone joined a dating service and one day said they were one thing and another day they said were another, would the dating service carry two profiles of the person? How would that be managed? Just thoughts....

Yes, it is sad and frustrating Dreamlord. Yet, truly (I believe) indicative of the skills a D has to exhibit to example their ability to provide Domly traits to a sub. I'm sorry.. didn't mean for it to mean to sound like I was ranting... i was just commenting on the OP's statement over picking out the fakes. (quickly cleaning MHOO's martini off desk) (Pours Cloudz a cup of java) (pours passionfire a cup of java... adding creamer) Sorry all... I didn't mean for it to sound like a rant.. it was more or less for the one looking for the fakes... instead of spending their time looking for one to connect with... slavejali........no you did not go there... lol... Dating services are something you pay for. Something you go to and say hey.. Find me a date. CM is a place for folks to hang out.. talk.. have fun.. and perhaps every now and then.. two (or more depending on your cup of tea) will meet...and things happen.
