What are you dressing up as this Halloween?

Well.. i like to look around and find things in secondhand stores.. to sew and rework..into my own costumes.

THIS year.. i am sewing my own Chiquita Banana lady costume!

Just like the sticker on the Banana.. my dress is royal blue... i am fashioning it from two matching bridesmaids dresses from Salavation army.. it will be complete with big yellow ruffly sleeves, very lowcut, to feature my cleavage, and more yellow ruffles down the sides of the high front split area of the skirt. 

i will be using a portion of fabric from one skirt.. turban style..around my hair..and then top that off with a royal blue basket of fake fruits.  i fashioned the hat myself, from a find also at salvation army.. a mexican sombrero hat.. that i removed the fringe from and spraypainted blue. The fruits are all found at the dollar store.

Bright red full lips..hoop earrings... and im done!

Last year, i had lots of fun.

i bought a couple of black velvet dresses.. and fashioned my own black cat costume. Using the one dress.. i cut and sewed it to the short dress i had in mind..again featuring my cleavage..and legs..  The other dress.. i needed for sewing a long matching tail... and also.. i sewed my own cat ears from the velvet. Bought face paint..and managed to wow myself with how really good i was able to paint my own face to look like a cat.. glued in a set of fangs.

To the party i went.. i brought along a kitty litter cake... (a recipe i found online.. of crumbled cake.. cookies.. pudding.. thats served in a cat litter pan. Lil melted tootsie rolls made it look all the more real..and had people roaring with laughter..with my food contribution.)

The year before that.. i fashioned my own adult baby costume.. from a pale pink fleece blanket i purchased for ten bucks at family dollar. The bonnet..diaper... bottle and huge rattle were bought in a costume store.. The p.j's were complete with the lil ass flap in back.

yes... i love halloween!..lol

Well i got a costume for the german Karnival so i guess i will use it again it is the goddess Athena only costume i liked.

I went to a play party as "June Cleaver". I had a very frilly apron that I made and had on pearls, a vintage looking bra, panties, garter and stockings. I also had props: clothespins, a nice wooden spoon,and a feather duster. As a topper I printed out a sign that looked like a word balloon that said, "Ward, I think you were a little hard on the Beaver last night".

I think the favorite I ever did was a "Jill in the box". I got a prize for that one. ( and no it was waaay before the "dick in a box" song from Saturday night live)

I'm decking myself out as a murder victim (complete with guts and blood from the meat market up the road), and laying on my front porch. Any person that's brave enough to come up the steps is getting a double handful of candy.
