Has anyone ever attended a Halloween themed wedding? Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? If you were a guest at a Halloween themed wedding would you dress in costume or would you feel uncomfortable?

My sub and I have discussed this often. We plan to marry one day and I decided on a Halloween wedding. The plan is to fly out to Las Vegas and have it at one of the hotel's out there. Costumes will be encouraged but not necessary. He has already said he wants to wear a wedding gown, which, is fine by me, I will have one of my own.

I think making the costumes optional is a great idea that way those who would feel uncomfortable can opt out and wear regular clothes. Personally, I love wearing costumes so I'd wear one.

I would definately make costumes optional. I love the idea of a halloween wedding, I am not a traditonal girl so it doesn't suprise him. lol And honestly for me it could be something our UMs could help plan and even decorate for.

My parents were married on Halloween, it's an Irish thing.

I am thinking of any Tim Burton movie as a great inspiration for Halloween wedding attire and decorations; Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas...

Congratulations!  I envy you, I always wanted to get married on Halloween, but had to get married earlier.  Well at least I got to wear black...lol

Have fun with it, and don't forget updates :>

That was on last night's episode of Ace of Cakes.  Instead of typical bride & groom cake toppers, they had a zombie bride & groom.  It was such a novel idea.

Last halloween I attended the wedding of Lumus and Rainfire and their wedding was halloween themed and they encouraged the invited guests to dress in costume for the ceremony and for the reception and dance after. The goblets they used for the head table were ones that had a skeletal hand base, the wedding favors were black and orange jelly beans wrapped in tulle. The hall for the reception was decorated in halloween decorations.

Wow bear! We are talking about having like a halloween carnival type setting for the reception since everyone we know has kids and truth be told we are both big kids. lol We are actually thinking about making a list of some things for decorations and hittin the halloween store after halloween to see what we can get on sale and put away.
