Swine flu is heavily overhyped by the media. I'm only saying this because I have a confirmed case, and it's only because I have a weak immune system from Celiac disease. It really sucks if you don't see someone, as it led to a respitory infection, but it's still very treatable by modern methods. I had an IV for a little bit because of the dehydration, and it got very hard to eat, but I'm alive thanks to gatorade and my juicer.

But in regards to the OP, yes, let's blame politicians for a global pandemic. You know, if Obama would just take a break from shitting golden bricks, I'm sure he would aid in making those vaccines spawn faster in the eggs which must produce them. Sheesh, when will he got off his butt. /sigh

I hope you are back to normal soon.   A speedy recovery.   :-0

Very kind of you, thank you. I hope everyone just worries a little less about it, and didn't want to see the finger pointing. Hey, I lost 15 lbs from nowhere with it, so it's not all bad. Unfortunately, I think it was muscle because I didn't have 15 to lose. Brightside to everything though :)

Actually, it's not impossible for people who received the nasal spray H1N1 vaccine to develop a mild case of swine flu from the vaccine. The nasal spray uses a weakened, but still live, virus. That's why it's not recommended for anyone under 2, over 50, or with certain chronic conditions.

The thing about the nasal spray is that's it is engineered to live in the nose and not the lungs (only survives in  lower-temp environments).  So you're exposed to just enough to get an immune response.  It's the same way the seasonal flu's done.

I have to admit I don't know very much about nasal vaccines in general, but being in a high risk group I've been following the swine flu issue pretty closely. I don't doubt that what you're saying is generally true of nasal flu vaccines, but I do know that the CDC reports that a significant (not necessarily large, but statistically significant) number of people on whom  the swine flu nasal vaccine was tested experienced mild flu-like symptoms - short of a fullblown case of the flu, but still including congestion, cough, runny nose, headache, chills, fatigue, weakness, and sore throat. Their website warns of this reaction. If it was reported in the testing phase, I don't doubt that some people now using the vaccine are experiencing similar symptoms.

Considering that the nasal spray was the first vaccine available, and for some time the only version being used, I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few people across the country did, indeed, contract swine flu from the vaccine. In fact, I'd be quite surprised if they hadn't. But in most instances, it should be a very mild case.

Fair enough panda, but I was talking about the flu shot. There are so many who claim to have gotten the flu from it when it just isn't so. The benefits outweigh the downside by so much that I highly recommend getting the shot, especially those in one of the high-risk groups.

I know, Zephyr. But Irishknight asked earlier if anyone had heard anything about anyone getting sick from the vaccine. My reply was in the context of that particular question. Given that the nasal vaccine is known to cause flu-like symptoms, I'm guessing that's where the stories he heard originated.

One line of thinking is that each batch of this shot will contain more of the bad stuff.  IE more sickness.

Another line says that this will weaken the person for a later shot that a later shot will do the kill.

My best friend Jenny got reg flu shot and the swine flu shot.  I am in shock that she did.

However no one in my family will take this shot.  No one.

It pisses me off that Jennys DR said mercury in the shot is a myth.

Every shot has with it the official insert in the package.  This will be as detailed as the Tylenol inserts.  I even emailed her all that- but she was "too busy"

Dr Horowicz of Harvard makes a compelling argument against this shot- as does Gary Null.  Jane Burgermiester also makes a great case for no shots.

This also makes no sense.  We might be forced to take a shot for which there is not enough doses.  hmm.

Yet we see how the govt can not even count people per a census.   Ron Paul, Bob Chapman, Alex Jones all say not to take this vax.  Dr Ron Paul IS a medical Dr.   So that means something.

BTW- I voluntarily took my Ron Paul sign down.   If people dont "get it" by now then ... whatever. lol

It's like folks are living on a different planet, or a parallel universe.
