When I was looking, I had about 80% interesting, substantive e-mail and about 20% spam, but I listed myself as a switch rather than as a Domme. I did notice that the submissives tended to spam much more frequently than the switch or dominant/toppy types. I did talk to a few intelligent, polite, respectful submissive men, though. Now that I'm off the market, I mostly get e-mail from other forum people, or else spam from people who don't bother to read profiles.

Venatrix... You Wound ME!  While I recognize that Airway, Breating, and Circulation are vital...  I further expect a Mistress to be alert and oriented to Person, Place, Time, and Event.  A GCS of 15 is a Hard Limit for me!  Perhaps I am not the typical subbie.

By the way!..  I just found a new Domme...  I have got to book a flight...  Umm...  What's that airline?..  Quantis?..

It's painfully obvious that so many don't read profiles...or if they do they are so selfish and focused on their agenda that they don't care about what they've just read. Whilst some of these mails ARE a source of hilarity I do not feel the need to dignify them with a response.

If people are polite, genuine and respectful of the wishes I have expressed in my profile I am happy to converse with them.

I wish some of you ladies would post some of your funnier "dumb emails" for the entertainment value. I've gotten hooked on EmailsFromCrazyPeople.com myself, and these seem like they'd fit in.

FR: I can't complain about the volume, but then I'm over 50 in age and over 200 pounds (whether or not I look it), and I'm sure to most of the wanksters hunting fodder exclude me from their search by default. I also refrain from posting images of myself more than the backlit silhouette I have up. I will say that of the trickle (not flood) of messages I get from here, the huge majority prove that most subs don't bother to read profiles.

Hmm I always make sure to read the profile, and I at least try to use correct grammar, years of being a member of a creative writing website where if you make common mistakes the cranky old admins will chew you up and spit you out.  I've gotten some good verbal beat downs from there, good times. ;_;

When I do send an mail to ANYONE (not just Dommes), I do try to be sincere. Correct grammer, and actually send something meaningful to the person. Maybe they wrote something in their journal I like. Or they live close by, and maybe up for a munch with others. Things like that. Being a male slave, I rarily get mail. Yes, it maybe, due to my wearing a collar. But still, while i am collared, I am still human.

And that, is why there are many subs still looking. They fail to treat others as humans first, and maybe future friends second.

Hi Everyone , As a newbie of less than a week ,I have found this thread very interesting .
So far i have had 226 messages sent to me .As said above the majority of them have not read
my profile .A few of the young ones have been quite rude when i replied to them and said they
were to young .So not sure its the right thing to do ,to be polite and reply to them .
Did not expect such a big response ,especially as i am on the wrong side of 50 and a
newbie myself to being a Dom .But cant wait now to get it all going .
Good to be part of this forum and looking forward to getting to know some of you .

PS , made me realise that we are doing a big public service to society as there are so many Men who require
our services

On the flipside, because this site has so much 'junk' mail, it makes it difficult for us sub males who are really seeking a Domme for a relationship.

I would say it does. I suppose those males could seek out their local community, though. If they were very serious.


and LadyAliena... I wouldn't reply unless they say something that catches your eye, if they're too young just ignore them. It's better than getting bitchy emails for no reason.

Speaking as a male switch, I can say that I don't think anyone on this site actually reads profiles before they send messages.  I have been here since March and have received messages from about 30 or so women and have yet to receive even one from someone who actually read my profile, excluding a couple of people who already knew me and were simply looking to see what I wrote on my profile.  A couple of the women who've sent me messages have been friendly enough that I have talked with them anyway, but I either ignore most of them or have a little fun and string them along (yes it's bad, I know).

Based on what I've heard from other people, I am convinced CollarMe could do away with profiles and 95% of the messages sent would not be affected at all. 

I also want to comment on something Slavejaredmtl said.  I don't send messages very often but when I have I have noticed the same thing he has, that the very short messages usually get responses while the long and detailed ones don't get responses.  This is despite the fact so many profiles on here mention "don't send one-liners" or "don't send form mails" or something to that effect.  While I have never used a form letter the very short ones inevitably end up all having more or less the same format.  It's always been kind of interesting to me how that works.

I'm thinking about simply deleting my profile and just saying something like "Not looking, go away."  I'll probably get a flood of messages then, knowing this site.

I also like pretty pictures. I will usually send someone a note if I think they have a nice or well-taken profile photograph.

I also read the profiles of those i have a message from before i reply.
I also reply to every message i recieve .
Like ShaktiSama i prefer the profiles with pictures ,you know then that they
are more sincere .
Wish i had the time  for more than one slave as some lovely people have replyed and i hate having to say No Thank you .
