SnowRanger -> Conversely.... (10/27/2009 8:38:06 PM)

I know... I am supposed to read the whole profile...  And the journal too...  But...  Sometimes my eyes just glaze over!  ALL CAPS...  punctatuation...  sentence structure...  spell check...  use of paragraphs...  I mean...  My eyes just hurt!  I have to be a masochist just to read some of these profiles!

I've since disabused myself of the notion I had as a child that keyboard skills are a measure of a person's intelligence and worth, certainly.

Regardless, I have to be honest and say that one of the most important things about my attraction to Mistress, back when we were just getting to know each other here on the boards, through e-mail and even initially looking at Her profile was Her clean and grammatically correct style of written communication. It was easy to read what She had to say, and the construction of Her thoughts was aesthetically pleasing.

use of paragraphs...

There seems to be a problem with this site and how various web browsers available on all platforms render paragraphs. Each browser renders them differently.

I have spent time crafting topical paragraphs on my journal posts here and, while previewing them within my browser they appear just fine, they come out as one huge block of text when posted. I've used four different browsers on my computing hardware (a Mac) and each one does something different with the paragraphs.

So, when it comes to paragraph structure, I cut people lots of slack.

Everything else in your post is fair game though.

I recognize that!  When I send a missive out it is all neat and spaced.  When I get it back in archive...  Not a paragraph in the whole thing!  I can only hope that it is received as it is sent.

Oh yes, I know this one.   I've read more than a few dommes' badly-written profiles demanding well-written applications.  A chuckle a day on CM . . . [;)]

Have you tried using a different text-editor, then copying and pasting?  Writing in Wordpad first seems to help.  MS Word has made a pig's ear of it in the past for me, on the other hand.

Sure you have a point, but if she made you horny immediately, I'm sure you'd find a way to get around poor paragraph constructions. [8D] M

Ouch Snowranger that hurt my eyes and my head trying to read it. I agree 101% that at least a attempt should be made at grammer. I will be the first to admit my spelling/typing skills suck, but wow......

Yep. Though there is no WordPad for Mac, I've used six or seven different text editors available on my computer, including those found on the Unix command line... nano, vi, and emacs. Everything's formatted correctly when opened by other editors, even when opened in Google Docs. For some reason, when it gets pasted into this site's editor window via a browser, I have no idea how the final text will turn out. As long as I'm viewing the text I posted in the same browser, it looks fine. When using another browser, it comes out as one large block of text.

Forum posts are fine. This phenomenon is only applicable to journal entries, profile text, and Cmail messages.

I have to assume that others see my efforts in those places as lacking in paragraph technique (except for my profile text; no parapgraphs needed there).
