I just watched this horrible move with Master called Wolf Creek...has anyone else seen it? Apparently its based on a true story or stories. We have a serial killer here some time ago named Ivan Milat, he would kill backpackers on holidays here, its basically a movie with that theme...but god...i think I'm still shaking...Master thinks Im being silly...but god those poor people....

Wolf Creek is in Western Australia. Thats where the movie based their story. The serial killer they took a lot from was actually operating in NSW. I couldnt say the movie was boring.....................................................................................

What is so disturbing about these types of movies that are based on true stories is that they happened. I have said before that we can almost laugh at the Nightmare on Elm Street movies or the Friday the 13th movies because they are so far fetched, but these movies strike a solid core of fear into us because it happens. I forget what the statistics are but if I remember correctly that there are potentially about 30 serial killers that are active in the US right now. Each one of these cases is tragic, disturbing and frightening because it is real and not on the silver screen. They could live next door to you... if that doesn't make your hair stand on end I don't know what will.

Yes Sir, movies based on real facts are the ones that get to me the most...horror movies based on fantasy just make me laugh most of the time.

The movie fear.com trully scared me, basically it's based on a website that is a live snuffsite broadcasting from a disused theatre where a *doctor* takes young girls, its all about trying to hunt the killer down but it terrified me as that kind of thing does happen, things that are possible are the scariest things of all imho

*edited to slay the typo deamon yet again*

Roger Ebert said that Wolf Creek was one of the only movies he has ever walked out on. Not sure why anyone would find a movie like this worth their time.

Depends on how the movie is done.

Small Sacrifices is a great book that delves into the mind of one of the sickest women in American history (imo) I think there was also a movie made about her.

If it's just a slash and gash type movie. I see no value in it. If, on the other hand, it delves into the psyche, motivations and manipulations of these people...I will watch it! But then again, I've always been fascinated by criminal psychology and/or abnormal psychology.

Makes me feel so 'normal'...erm...relatively speaking. *lol*
