After reading littleone's thread on being collared and the warm expressions shared by those who commented I began to wonder this.
For those that are not collared, do you imagine or think about a certain place or way that you would like it to be offered to you?
For those that are collared, where you collared in a special place?
Was it a surprise to you, like the guy who gets the giant trinitron at a sporting event to read "Marry me" with his fiance in the crowd?
Was it private, or shared amongst friends when the collar was proposed?
Have any of you gotten cold feet, just before the collar was presented, or shortly afterwards?

Fastlane takes out pen and pad and writes...Mall parking lots good for offering a collar...note, bring along handicap sticker in case the lot is full [:)]

Not just no....HELL NO. we discussed a collar at great length, what it would mean to our relationship and to each of us personally, how it might change our lives. it was something agreed upon and entered into only after much open and honest communication, consideration, meditation and prayer on the matter.

Special place - i was at his feet.

Surprise - no, it was begged for and discussed thoroughly beforehand, so that i knew what it was i was begging for, and what it meant. There was no marriage associated with the collar.

It was very private, although he took pictures of me in it that were shared.

No cold feet. Hence all the discussion beforehand. ;)

When i was actually collared i was sittng on a bed in a hotel it was no surprise it was just the 2 of us and that was the way we wanted it. I was with Master however so whenever i am with him it is special.

Were you collared in a special place?
It was at a very small ren/fantasy faire (now defunct) in Texas. An evening music event with a nice crowd of fun people. He had me kneel in the dirt.

Was it a surprise to you, like the guy who gets the giant trinitron at a sporting event to read "Marry me" with his fiance in the crowd?
The actual time was a suprise but it was something we had discussed for a while.

Was it private, or shared amongst friends when the collar was proposed?
Other people were around but not part of our intimate time...except Master Archer's best friend, who is vanilla but understands.

Quick Question. Would that faire happen to be Hawkwood? I loved that one... we used to go to it every year. Have lots of pics from it! I really hated to see it go.

My Dragon and I went together to buy my first collar. (A wonderful velvet one that I still sleep in). So it was not a surprise. This is something that I asked for.. He made sure that I knew just what I was getting into and we discussed it in great detail. There was just the two of us. At that time we did not have very many friends that we wanted there. It happened in our bedroom, with me kneeling before him as he put the collar on me. It was a moment that I will never forget and the feeling hasnt changed in a year.

BTW ~ in our pictures on our profile you can see the lace black one that I recieved for our first Christmas together. (The pics are our wedding photos)

Master Archer even performed at Hawkwood one year..a comedy archery show: Brotherhood Of The Bow.

I'd had a difficult childhood, and my high school years through my early 20's were a living hell. When things got particularly difficult for me, I'd head for the Santa Catalina Mountains, to a place called Inspiration Rock on Mt. Lemmon, hike down into the valley and just sit and think. I spent a LOT of time up on that mountain (even lost my virginity there, but not at that exact spot), and it has always been a special place for me. So when Master and I planned a November, 2001 trip to Tucson to visit my family, He made other plans as well.

I'd spent a couple days taking Him around town and showing Him my old hangouts and such, and then we took a day and drove up the mountain. We wandered around the tiny town just below the ski valley, did a little hiking, decided the next time we went there we'd stay at a beautiful little B&B, and then we went down to Inspiration Rock. Standing there, looking out at the valley, He bade me kneel. Without a word, He took a purple chain collar from His pocket and locked it around my neck. From the chain dangled a small heart-shaped dog tag that said simply, "Kaptin Purple's dee." I looked up at Him, and He said, "Yes, pet, that is what this means." He knelt before me and took me in His arms, and we both shed a few tears.

That mountain caught fire the summer of 2002, and even the town was completely wiped out. A few cabins were all that remained standing of the original town. We went back last summer and stopped at Inspiration Rock with my son. So much of it was gone. My son thought I'd lost my mind, but I stood there and cried for my mountain, and the little town that will never again look or feel like home to me.

yes it was a special place, in His arms. (Heck i still miss those arms sometimes)

No it was not a surprise, we talked about the commitment it meant for months previous and planned a special night.

It was very private, just Him and i.

Cold feet, never!!
