I agree... don't ruin the peppers dish by putting sugar in it.  Put garlic in and make it savory.

I like the way you think, but TFB may want to consider onion instead.

Onion is good, but I am still trying to figure out what is wrong with honey?

Nothing is wrong wtih honey, boi.  But I know that TFB has been dieting and wanting to eat healthier.  Many people who have never really cooked don't know what joy there is in spices.  I mentioned garlic because it is ever so versatile and she might want to try cooking with something new to wake up her taste buds.  I've seen many people who have learned to use spices swear off sugar.

And remember they are called sweet peppers for a reason - they are naturally sweet (to my tastebuds).  Why destroy that lovely, from the vegetable flavor by covering it up with additional sweetness?  It's like having a bread sandwich to me.

And today I'm making grilled catfish!  not a bit of flour in the recipe!  I haven't had catfish in I don't know how long and I'm looking forward to cooking it.

And it really doesn't matter if mom and I cook on the same day, she can cook lunch I'll cook dinner, or I'll make it for james only who hasn't eaten yet since he's at work.

More than that is that these dishes shouldn't taste sweet. Onion and peppers aren't sweet and a sweet taste doesn't go with it. Meals should be balanced in color and flavor and texture. Sweet potatoes have some sweetness so the main dish accompanying them shouldn't be sweet. Potatoes aren't crunchy, so you might add a salad for that. The dishes should compliment each other, not match each other in terms of color, flavor, texture. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes cry out for a green vegetable and a red or orange one like carrots or red bell peppers stir fried, to give excitement to the plate and the taste buds.

But yes, you and your mother could trade off days for cooking, or just cook stuff the day ahead and then reheat it in time for everyone to eat. You want to put a green or orange vegetable with almost any meal that is meat based. Or a vegetable and a salad. As well as some kind of starch.

Health wise; brown rice is better than white, sweet potatoes are better than white potatoes, whole wheat bread is better than white bread.

When I was like 9 and 10 I liked 17 spoonfulls of sugar in my tea, it was so sweet it was sickening, and there'd be a ton of sludge in the bottom of the cup.

Thank god and my health I don't like that now. I don't even use sugar in my tea I use sweet and low which people say is bad for you and causes aches and pains but I don't buy it, not really.

a sweet baked pumpkin and a pumpkin fondue, and then I am making stuffed bell pepers tomorow.

What do you think of this meal bellpeppers with meat and rice and a lil sugar, and a sweet yam for every one and then a fresh veggie?

I'd leave out the sugar. You could make stuffed bell peppers with that. Brown up the meat, cook the rice, throw in some cheese and any other veggies you have. Mix together throw some spaghetti sauce on it and stuff the peppers.

As for the sweet potato you can make sweet potato fries or chips, sweet mashed potatoes, you could bake the sweet potato.... But if you are having rice I wouldn't add the sweet potato that's a lot of starch.
