Nothing to forgive. You went for humour and overshot the mark. It happens.

But if you need it, you got it.

Welcome to CM!

I wasn’t referring to male posts, I don’t think they have that problem, just to female posts that received the deluge.

As I said you don’t have to be extremely detailed for someone worthwhile to figure it out

hey, I like reading them too. But I try not to be one of the annoying ones.

cillydom,
Your post is one of the silliest I think I have ever read. Talking in the third person format as if you are a child. Talking about your physical pain over reading profiles. Is this a serious post? I understand, somewhat, why slaves talk in the third person, but to read a Dominant's post, talking in the third person format is just a bit to much. I have my doubts as to who actually wrote your last post. You seem like a completely different person now. As to your actual post, what do you care how Dominants fill in their profile? How does it effect YOU? I cant possibly take this post or you seriously.

Oh and welcome to the boards.

Took the words right out of my mouth, MoGA. Thank you.

Holy Darleks and Dung Beetles. This bloke (cillydom) is probably the bloke I wrote about in the Gorean Lifestyles Forum who wanders about with aroaring, raging hard on and rogers the first slave he sees bending over only to find that the owner of said rogered slave lope off his tallywacker and silly dom is inducted into the Cast of Bobbets.. (ref: Goreans and anal sex. p3).

it was just a personal observation and opinion I was sharing

I didn’t attack anybody personally nor will I start now

it was put out for general comment and to elicit the ideas of others

As I said, I have a pretty good idea about they are seeking. And I don’t tailor my responces to suit the “submissive” but that’s just me. Milage may vary
.

I for one appreciate some detail in a profile, not the entire laundry list so to speak, but SOME detail. I do prefer to leave the door open for discussion regarding things, but that is just me.

And it wasn’t the dom posts I was referring to, it was the “submissives” post I was talking about. And how they are so detailed that anyone could tailor a response

If it were my choice I could also tailor a perfect response to a Dom's profile. But again it comes down to the fact that eventually it would be found that I were not as I claimed to be.

Mate, about half of us here have the craziest idea if humour and i cvanpretty well be sure that people who ate pulling you leg (you can choose which one) are not attacking you either. You leave yourself open for a leg pull it will happen nothing is surer. As we get used to you, you'll get used to us... CM at times is like a large sand pit with a diverse number of people who play here. I'll tell you something though, some one really starts to get personal and attack you, there are many who will wadein with support and give the attacker some interesting information about his or her ancestors (or lack of them)

Saw your very eloquent essay the other day and loved it. Saw this was a humorous way of saying what you ended up saying more seriously. Didn't really see the crime in it. Nothing to forgive. Although like Celeste said, if i hadn't read your other essay first, i would not have given this read the attention i did.

Good to see you again, btw.

Let me see if I can decipher this cilliness.

S-type people ('subbies'..the word makes me cringe) are being too specific of their wants and needs in their profiles. This enables D-types (why not say 'dommies'?) to customize their own profiles to match the wants of specific S-types.

How is my translation?

Perhaps D-types are doing this also?

I think you nailed it!!!

Your point seems to be that some profiles aren't done the way YOU would have them done?

People will present themselves however they wish, some more specific, some less. If they present themselves wrongly they maybe waiting a long time to find what they seek. It is trial and error and frankly doing it YOUR way might be exactly the wrong thing for them to do. It all depends on exactly what they seek, the kind of Dom THEY need.

I put a lot of thought into my profile.... even checking with a lovely helpful little sub sweetie to see if it was saying what I wanted it to say when viewed from the other side of the coin. So far it seems to be doing the job it was intended to do.

But I don't assume MY way is going to be the right way for someone else..... and think YOUR post somewhat pointless in that regard. Oh and the third person thing.... doesn't much work from a sub, certainly looks odd from a Dom!

Liked the other post you started, but this one... well sequels are never as good are they

I don’t care what anybody says or does as long as their fist stops short of my face.

The suggestion was and it was only a suggestion is with a little less detail in her profile it would be harder for someone to mirror themselves back as her perfect partner.

I think that those that have knowledge of what d/s is about will be able to fill in the gaps of what’s not said in her profile and thus be more authentic. Thus easing her lament.

Let me get this straight...you say that if a female submissive has a detailed profile, and is being deluged by emails from incompatable dominants, then she should make a vague profile instead, so that the illusive "real" doms out there can "read between the lines" and know what it is she wants?
I have 3 issues with this idea.....
1. If the mystical "real" dom can read between the lines of a vague profile and somehow just know what the submissive wants, don't you think he could do so with a detailed profile as well, and in fact get an even clearer picture of what floated that girl's boat.
2. If a detailed profile is elliciting a flood of emails from dom's who do not match the profile, consider the Noahesque porportions of the deluge of replies to a vague profile that has no filtering criteria in it.
3. It is an asinine idea.

any idea is asinine when taken to extream
all im saying is, may a more moderate aproach may (may!) help
common sense is still a good thing to have.

Well it may help, but I doubt it.
I believe Mike Myers said it pretty well..."and monkeys might fly out of my butt"
