Moonhead -> RE: I have an opinion but what can I say? Astonishing? (11/1/2009 8:50:37 AM)

Can I just ask: were there even half as many "independent conservatives" completely unaligned with the Republicans about before the last election? I suspect that there's a lot of people who are still down with the elephant but are claiming otherwise to make it look less like they're taking a party line.

that video really is unsettling.   the movement is corrupted.   I seen a fake liberatariun running for office on youtube.   he thinks we should send troops to Afghanistan.

sorry, not really a republican.  We need more independents. I'm a conservative, not a republican.
We need more independents in office.  Democrat/republicans are basically saying different things, but they get into office and do the same ol' same ol.  We need actual change for the better.  Obama didn't change anything important, he talked a good game, but in essence, he didn't do anything the republican I voted for would of done.  Basically they are both the same.  We need an independent president, more independents in the congress/senate.

Isn't it amazing we no longer have any conservative Republicans?

We just have conservative Independents, who, by some miraculous twist of fate, agree with everything conservative Republicans say.

You, you mean foreign governments can cripple our economy ? The hell you say. Our trusted benevolent "leaders" would never get us into an "agreement" like that would they ?

Would they really ?

the only thing strange is that you persist in posting drivel in the form of blatant strawmen.

Mohammed did not write any book. The Koran most certainly was not approved by him, as it was composed after his death. Anybody who asserts that the Koran was the word of Mohammed is wrong.

Where do you get this from ? The Koran is entirely the word of Mohammed as revealed to him by the angel Gabriel.

NeedToUseYou -> RE: I have an opinion but what can I say? Astonishing? (11/1/2009 4:48:42 PM)

I'm a conservative on most issues, and I've been bitching about Bush for years!!.

As far as Tea Parties go, that whole movement was hijacked from Ron Paul, by Fox News after the election. Before that they were calling the Ron Paul people terrorists on that fuckwad Glen Beck's Show. Glen Beck is truly nothing more than an actor, he flip flops according to the blowing of the wind.

Anyway, I reject the whole current incarnation of the tea party "movement", as it is just media whoring now.

So, I guess I'm still an Independent Conservative, though never called myself that, Bush in my view was as bad or worse as Obama in some Areas, and Obama is worse than Bush was in some areas.

Check my posting history I've not been an democrat or republican fan for years, though I'd still say if I had to go line by line and select either or according to what they "state" they are for or against, I'd agree more with the republican stated philosophy, unfortunately they don't apply it, thus it's meaningless.

As in republicans will say they are for the free market, yada yada, yet Bush did the whole Bailout bullshit.

Anyway, my official stance is I dislike a few politicians, and hate the rest.

The historical record is quite clear. Mohammed dictated the Koran to his early followers.

How do you know? Do you have the sworn affidavit of Mohammed to back that up? He was dead when the Koran was composed, so how could he approve it.

It is very easy to corrupt texts, especially when the prophet is dead. I will provide a simple example: "The Koran is in part the word of Mohammed as revealed to him by the angel Gabriel".

You may now deny that these were your words, since I altered them a tiny bit, but if anyone asserted that these were your words after you had died, would you still be able to testify that it was not the truth?

The people that composed the Koran had an agenda, a purpose, their own agenda and purpose. Gabriel and Allah definitely would have strongly disagreed with that purpose.

The historical record is quite clear. Mohammed did not dictate the Koran to his early followers.

Mohammed recited various texts to his followers, and they were remarkable in that they were in an unknown, revolutionary style of poetry. He also used his own judgment when having to make decisions. There are a couple of examples in which he retracted, or is asserted to have retracted, what he had said earlier, hence the socalled 'satanic verses' if I recall correctly.

Anyone who makes the assumption that what Mohammed said made its way uncorrupted into the Koran, is insufficiently paranoid.

You are nit picking, as per usual. You use your normal B/s claim of "you didnt see him write it down did you" Well you are correct, I didnt see him write it down. I guess that makes every book and essay ever written incorrect, as neither you nor I saw anyone write it down......Silly us huh.

I'm an Independant.
And I've *never* aligned myself with dems or repubs. There are more positions than just "liberal or conservative!"
Why do people feel that they have to be "either, or?" That's just bad thinking or intellectual laziness.
As far as I'm concerned I'd like to see dems and repubs go extinct. Look at the damage those two parties have caused in this country!
Bill Clinton and George Bush will go down as the two worst presidents. You'd have to really think for a while to figure out which of those two idiots is the worst.
"Now, is it the sociopath or the low i.q. rich kid?" And I think it's funny as hell that they BOTH went to "YALE!" That has to be embarrassing.
But rest assured, if we allow the dems or repubs to remain in existance and given enough time sure as shit they'll somehow come up with someone worse!
You see, to my way of thinking I don't know how *anyone* would want to allie themselves to *either* of those two parties.
Why would anyone with any intellectual capacity want to waste their vote by voting "D" or "R?"
