lol Zeph, it's my back-up employment plan, I like to mockingly say. My main career is as an intellectual, but historically that can be kinda precarious. So, if things get dicey for the intellectuals I figure that's when the freak show circuit really picks up, so I can be a tattooed lady. [;)] If I could figure out how to grow a beard (without taking testosterone, thanks), I'd be willing to add bearded tattooed lady to plan B . . . . . . [:D] & SubOnlyForHim, if that was directed at me rather than the OP, I would but (a) I no longer have little bitty cheap tats in mind; the one's I've got figured out tend to cover large swathes of me & are thus pricey. (& I'm getting really picky about the artists, which also ups the price tag . . . . ) & (b) I'm living on a very low income these days. & I just haven't felt motivated enough to change either of those conditions. But I'm sure that won't last forever . .. . . My philosophy of tattoos is that they're a great thing to take one's bloody freakin' time pickin' out, cuz they're with ya forever . . . . . So I'm patient . . . . .

Actually, it was aimed at anyone that is desiring one, Kia. i LOVE tattoos and plan to be mostly covered in the end, as well. i have only one "small" tattoo and that was because it was the artist's birthday and he'd never tattooed me and nearly begged to. They can get quite pricey, but my tattooist friends are awesome! i don't typically worry about price, i just decided i was going to give my body a rest on healing. For about 3 months i would have up to 3 different parts of my leg in various stages of healing. i'm about ready to get back to it though. i'll have to see if Sir will allow me to post some pics of my art. i am quite proud, though i wish my leg was finished!

lol zeph i like the more "discreet" things i have some things worked into my sleeve that only i (and the artist) are supposed to know are there. A few people have seen them and pointed them out (when it was fresh, and cause it's not quite finished). One of those people being Sir. i think He was offended, but quickly got over it when W/we planned my tat for Him.

Gah... I've got the itch for more ink right now somethin Fierce. It happens fairly consistantly anyway, every 5 or 6 months.. but it gets even worse when dad is having one of his medical crisises (sp? crises? crisis'?) I have never yet figured out Why - but it's like every time dad has a major problem, I go get inked, and somehow for a little while everything else just..... goes away. it can't touch me while I'm in the chair. It can't affect me. It's at a distance where my brain can process it all and come up with a reasonable and logical solution. I'm working on a full sleeve on one arm, I've got things planned for several other areas once the sleeve is finished, and now I've got a memorial piece for dad that is rapidly taking form in my brain, to be placed next to the butterfly which was mom's memorial piece. Looks like that one is what's going to be getting done next, simply because of what the medical situation is looking like.

Getting inked can be quite calming for me, but at the same time i've had to excuse myself from the table once or twice because it's a very sexual thing also (i love pain). The first time i had to tell him to stop, my tattooist says, "but you never need a break, you're my rock" and i say "uhm....you see those goosebumps? well, i...uh, i just need to go for a sec" He blushed and said "wow i've never had THAT happen before".

i don't have any tattoos on my neck, YET. i've been told feet hands and neck are the most painful. i have flowers going across the top/side of my right foot. It really wasn't all that bad. i sat through the whole session, about an hour, and never moved. But, as you know, i LOVE LOVE LOVE pain. my tattooist always says he wishes i'd come in when some of the "big tough guys" are there and let him tattoo me in front of them, so i can teach them how to take it [;)] lol
