CarrieO -> Fall Back time again! (10/31/2009 8:43:02 PM)

Daylight saving time in most of the United States ends at 2 a.m., local time, on Sunday, November 1.

Don't forget to set your clocks back and enjoy that extra hour of sleep!

This was Bushes shining achievement!

Oh please!

DST was started back in 1895 in freakin' New Zealand.

I think he meant moving it to after Halloween. And it's about time that happened. It made no sense prior to this to make it dark earlier just in time for the one day every little kid is out on the streets.

But I was shocked this morning when I noticed the time on the computer. Thankfully it had reset itself.

I know it has been around for a long time....I grew up in a state that didn't participate and now does,(Indiana) not so sure that it serves the purpose it once did. I was always told that it started based on more daylight hours for work in the field.
At one point only Arizona and Indiana (and then NOT all of both) didn't participate in DST, I wonder why they changed?...Hell, if it is based on an Agrarian society it's time has past.

DesFIP -> RE: Fall Back time again! (11/1/2009 8:54:42 AM)

Didn;t it gain widespread acceptance during WWII? Allowing workers to get to the factory in daylight, rather than it being dark both going and coming from work.

Being right on the line of the part of Indiana that just recently started changing time with DST, it's only been in the past couple of years that it has changed. The change was because of the amount of workers living and working in different time zones. This was a huge huge thing in my area.

Thank you.  I was referring to Bush moving it a weekish later.  It was a good idea.

And Bush did have another achievement.  The seniors got a COLA when he was in.  I hated Bush and did not vote for him.  Obama tho is Bushes 3rd term.

I am so dragging today. I am out of food and too lazy to go to the store.  Or to shave.  Or to clean.  I guess I am just an online whore.  ;-0

See it would have been such a good thing to have seen this last night. I almost had a heartattack when I got up at what I thought was 6:30am and saw 5:30 on the display of my digital tv converter. It was only my complete exhaustion that saved me.

SubOnlyForHim -> RE: Fall Back time again! (11/1/2009 10:22:05 AM)

and has it really been that recently that the drinking age was that low? i perved your profile to see your age.
