I also hear the Iraqis are planning a statue for Bush, the Great Liberator.

Former President Clinton unveils statue in Kosovo

PRISTINA, Kosovo – Thousands of ethnic Albanians braved low temperatures and a cold wind in Kosovo's capital Pristina to welcome former President Bill Clinton on Sunday as he attended the unveiling of an 11-foot (3.5-meter) statue of himself on a key boulevard that also bears his name.

Clinton is celebrated as a hero by Kosovo's ethnic Albanian majority for launching NATO's bombing campaign against Yugoslavia in 1999 that stopped the brutal Serb forces' crackdown on independence-seeking ethnic Albanians. This is his first visit to Kosovo since it declared independence from Serbia last year.

Many waved American, Albanian and Kosovo flags and chanted "USA!" as the former president climbed on top of a podium with his poster in the background reading "Kosovo honors a hero."

Does the statue have an erection?

Irishknight -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 7:10:53 AM)

I thought I heard them say the statue was "erected."

Monica will be there with a blue dress on for the unveiling..

We never should have gotten involved in Bosnia or Kosovo. It had nothing to do with the U.S.

Did anyone ever claim it did Pops...as I recall both those missions were undertaking under the banner of humanitarian issues....Do you deny lives were saved as a result.

As well as the banner of the UN. Intervention was a direct result of two massacres of civilians.

Well Polite if past posting is any measure we both know what Popeye feels about the U.N. not to mention spending American fortune and spilling American blood for the sake of fuuriners

Im not sure I disagree with trying to be the worlds policeman though Mike. Im just against trying to be the worlds policeman for political motives though.

slvemike4u -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 4:32:37 PM)

I think we have our wires crossed Polite.....from my point of view American soldiers fighting to stop genocide is much more preferable than using them for Nation building or to prop barely legitimate regime which in all probability is raping its own countries resources.
I had no problem with either of the mentioned missions Polite....none at all.

Politesub53 -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 4:38:51 PM)

I wasnt arguing with you Mike. Our views on this are the same.

Your xenophobia is well known, but some of us believe in the sanctity of life and defending the weak...which has nothing to do with either of the current conflicts that the U.S. is currently mired in.

And Germany had nothing to do with the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

slvemike4u -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 5:30:30 PM)

Riki that analogy fails.....Germany declared war on the U.S not the other way around.
Once the other guy declares a state of war exists.....you need no other justification for kicking his ass

slutslave4u -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 5:42:32 PM)

So if the statue of their "liberator hero" has an erection......does it also have Monica on her knees sucking that erection?

and IF it does.....then which would be the "hero"

Germany may have declared war first but American aggression is what lead to said declaration. http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/timeline/germany-declares.htm

slvemike4u -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 5:50:12 PM)

Wow ...American aggression let to the declaration......carving up Poland...invading the Low countries...France...shall I continue?
Your grasp of historical events would seem to be slightly skewed.

servantforuse -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 5:58:48 PM)

I think that rikigrl should do some reading on World War II.

slvemike4u -> RE: President Clinton honored with statue (11/2/2009 6:02:34 PM)

Well given the outlandishness of the statement....it better be a real good book!
