Ball gag question (Full Version)

The old ball gag has given up the ghost. I can't face breaking in a new rubber one, it's a full year before that nasty taste wears off every time you insert it.

Any suggestions. I like rubber because you can bite down on it. But if it's too soft then I'll just tear it in short order.

So any suggestions for one that is strong like rubber but not made of it? Oh, and a buckle strap, not a velcro. My hair always gets caught in the velcro.

I know its not rubber, but i also know that in desperation however tight its done up, i can spit it out.

Leather, natural latex, natural rubber, wood -- they do not outgas.

Ball gags aren't a great choice for me because of tmj but I would look into slicone.  Good durability, superior hygiene.

I have silicone - both a ball gag and a penis gag.  I don't know what clasp the silicone ball gag has, but the penis gag is velcro.  If you can't find one that has a buckle, I'm guessing you can get a buckle strap at Michaels or some place like that, and replace that portion of it.

Nueva, he got me a penis one also. And that's why I know I don't want another velcro one.

Aldo, So far I haven't seen a site that says 'natural' rubber, but I'm assuming that all those pretty colored ones out there aren't natural. Which says no one sells a natural one because they all have coloring. The leather is colored, the latex is colored, the rubber is colored. So suggesting something that isn't available isn't any help.

I always wondered how to clean the thing properly (leather and rubber being what it is)

I'll put in another vote for silicone.  I tend to bite down on mine.  It is durable, has some give to it, comes in lots of pretty colors and is so easy to clean.  I picked mine up at a Lotions and Lace and it had a buckle strap.

But most people aren't handy. I am ... I'm starting to wonder if there's a place for 'Green BDSM Gear' in this lifestyle...

Silicone is my vote. As stated, they are better when it comes to hygeine and yes, silicone is more durable.

I fashioned mine from a dog toy... the ball came with the hole trough it and i used the rope to make loops on each end... then i altered an old leather handbag strap to size and hammered some stud type poppers on it... i can't do with velcro by my hair and buckles are just too fiddly.
The ball does taste of rubber but it smells quite nice... it is no problem to me and i think the thing is going to last me a lifetime...

I'd also recommend silicone, but if your looking for an outside the box answer, I know someone who converted a dog ball sort of like this: http://www.superpettoysrus.com/images/020.JPG into a ball gag, I'm told it had a vanilla flavor. So you could look around for flavored rubber pet toys.

Before they went out of business I bought a 2" ball gag from subshop.com. It seems they were going with made in China crap towards the end as the gag had that terrible burning sensation and taste. However I learned that Spartacus up in Portland (Oregon) had nice biteable hypoallergenic 2"'ers and since purchasing one I've no complaints.
