I've only got used to this as I've got older.  Some women - actually, quite a lot of women - seem so cranky on the outside.  Yet, they'll say or do little things, over and again, that make you think, with total assurance:  "Yeah, bollocks.  You're as soft as a marshmallow".  They're lovely, precious, gemstones of women, but want to surround themselves with thorns. 

OK - I'll stop before I start sounding really patronising . . .

I am not cranky.  I am assertive.  There's a difference. 

And Zephyr, I'll have you know that I cuddle my cat in a VERY dominant manner; he accepted my collar years ago.

Status: offline 		Exactly! I had such great expectations based on his self assessment. I knew better but from everything he said he was an eager painpup. I always take that with a grain of salt, but I certainly expected more (tolerance from him) than what I got.

We all know (hopefully, anyway) how to warm up, start slow, build up, branch out, follow through....until we push the envelope of a sub's tolerance levels. We go here, go there, try this, try that, to see what trips triggers and what generates flinches.

I knew I was in for a disappointing evening when the nipple clamps elicited YEOWLS from the fellow.

A tiny tap with a paddle to simply test the water turned out to be much too much.

I remember standing there, paddle in hand, wondering to Myself 'now, tell me again, schmo, WHY did you come here today?' lolololol I was so tempted to haul of and just whap the bejeezus out of him to teach him a lesson, but I just shook My head, turned it into a restrictive bondage session he could handle and sent him home.
