I enjoyed a Mahvelous two hour massage with My RMT (registered massage therapist) day before yesterday.

It was My first experience with "cup" therapy. My therapist used the clear pvc cups with the suction gun as opposed to the glass bells that use heat to expand the glass then create suction as they cool on the skin.

The sensation of the cups with moderate to strong suction being pulled back and forth across the skin (which was lubricated with massage oil) was REALLY INTENSE!

Yesterday, My back was on fire all day. It's been two days and my back is still feeling the after-effects as I write: the cup therapy was deep and penetrating, like a very deep tissue massage; My muscles are still sore and My skin is still tender to the touch!

The intense pressure from the cups both during the massage and after have Me thinking I'd love to use the cups on My sub; he's such a wuss where pain is concerned he'd have a hard time taking a long session with moderate suction, but he'd love the loose and thoroughly 'pummelled' after effects.

I'd love to know if you've experienced cup therapy and whether you've experienced it in conjunction with WIITWD.

Glass, or plastic? Suggestions? Tips? Problems? Let me know.

It is one of my favorite forms of play. We own a cupping set. Our's however is plastic as opposed to glass. Though a glass one is in our future.
When we first started we figured plastic was a safer way to go for two virtual neophytes.

In any event I love it. Playing with the cupping set can make me lactate naturally within a week.
It was an ancient form of healing, blood letting. Its really quite nice as a whole.

I'd recommend it to anyone.

I've done cupping with both the plastic cups & gun thing, and glass cups. I actually use bell-shaped glass votive cups that I got in the craft section of Walmart for 59 cents a piece - and I like them MUCH better than the plastic cups, mostly because of the asthetics and drama of using fire. Swab a little alcohol inside, light, then attach.

Like anything to do with fire, I would recommend getting someone who knows how to do fire cupping to show you how. It's not difficult to do, but it's a good idea to be "shown" rather than "told" due to the volatile nature of fire. Keep a towel soaked in water and/or a pitcher of water on hand just in case.

The plastic-cup-gun-set up will set you back about $50, but are easy to use. Mine even came with diagrams of how to lay them out for various "therapies". Of course, the instructions are in Chinese, so I'm not quite sure what each layout actually does ;-).

While I've never had "cup therapy" I have done cupping before. It's very interesting and certainly a unique sensation.

I have a plastic set of cups....

I have alot of enjoyment using them in my play.

I also enjoy having the girls put them on me. I instruct them where and how much suction. I find it relieves my back pain and stress, very relaxing..... thou *G* seems I don't it well, cause my girls don't get alot of relaxation when I use them *G*, then indeed can be very intense!

Precisely why we went with plastic. Our set ran us about 80 dollars I think. Got the delixe version. You're correct directions are in Chinese but we got lucky we also got English directions.
We do a lot of fire play ourselves. It is also one of our favorite forms of play. Just haven't done a lot outside of a demo scene with the fire and the cups together.
You're 100% correct, we need more training before we venture out on our own.

My ex had a cupping set and it was a lot of fun. i should point out however, that a cup placed on the forehead, will bruise only seconds after being placed. i guess it was a good thing i had bangs at the time, although my doctor saw right through them.

I think we may try fire cupping & a pin hammer in future play. I think that, mixed with some shibari, and using prayer strips for the fire could work wonderfully well

I really enjoy cupping play, most especially when it is done first. The skin becomes hypersensitive and then to follow it with abrasion play or impact play sends me flying.

I remember one night he had me on the massage table in the dungeon, used the cups and then flogged the hell out of me with many different types of floggers. He then had me stand up (goofy grin on my face) and he said "stand still; if you move I'm going to hurt you." Uh huh, you try standing still when you aren't even sure which way is up. I was giggling so hard, he started using me like a weable-wobble - push me over and wait for me to come back up and push me over again. I still giggle thinking about that night.

Then there was another time that he put them on my ass and led me around by the cups... I think everyone watching got a kick out of that.

Thanks to all for responding, what great ideas!

kyra, I have no idea how you handled flogging after a cupping session! I've always taken pride in My tolerance for pain, but My back burned for 4 days after only the cups! What delicious ideas for tormenting My boi bobbi!

I think I'll try MsMarwood's suggestion first, then consider the plastic set if all goes well. What I enjoyed about the plastic cups and gun was the intense suction the gun could produce.
