I've done cupping with both the plastic cups & gun thing, and glass cups. I actually use bell-shaped glass votive cups that I got in the craft section of Walmart for 59 cents a piece - and I like them MUCH better than the plastic cups, mostly because of the asthetics and drama of using fire. Swab a little alcohol inside, light, then attach. Like anything to do with fire, I would recommend getting someone who knows how to do fire cupping to show you how. It's not difficult to do, but it's a good idea to be "shown" rather than "told" due to the volatile nature of fire. Keep a towel soaked in water and/or a pitcher of water on hand just in case. The plastic-cup-gun-set up will set you back about $50, but are easy to use. Mine even came with diagrams of how to lay them out for various "therapies". Of course, the instructions are in Chinese, so I'm not quite sure what each layout actually does ;-).
