Crikey, looks like you really are at square one! I'm not actually gonna try and address everything here, rather than make a few basic suggestions to help keep the thread moving....

First and foremost, if you're actually gonna call yourself 'Sir' in your screen name, then at least use some proper English when referring to yourself in general. On BDSM sites, subs mostly refer to themselves in lower case language such as 'i' whereas a Dom/me mostly writes the upper (and proper) case 'I'. I'd think a "Sir" might use the latter - how 'bout you?

And if you want to make a good impression with most things you might write, you particularly need to get acquainted with a spell check. And do try to shorten your sentences with the fullstop key (.)! And the comma key (,) is handy, otherwise it looks like you're babbling a mile a minute!

Though slavejali has made a kind gesture, I tend to think a profile needs to be done yourself. There seems a certain deception in someone else writing it for you, even if it's a generalised draft.... Yours is a dom's profile and Dom's are expected to take the lead. Where's that leave you if you can't make a decent attempt to even describe yourself or what you seek? Me, I'm not one to come down on a sub for failing a given task but I will if I don't think she's tried her best. How about you lead by example and have a go???

Hint: Go look at some Dom profiles and see if you can find things you relate to - things that are *true* about YOU! No copying - just research to bring out your own thoughts....

Focus.

I emailed you a list of questions Sir

MsSonnetMarwood -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 5:45:27 AM)

Some suggestions on profiles:

1. Spelling and grammar count, in profiles, emails AND posts. Use spellcheck and proofread your writing. Put those English 101 skills to work. I have and would again immediately dismiss any consideration of a sub that wrote this badly.

2. Be honest. In a previous post, the profile you then had conflicted the information given in the post you made. (Your profile at the time said you were r/t experienced, your post said you were not). If you want to find someone, then you have to be consistent in the truth. It will all come out in the end if it progresses.

3. You should write your profile yourself, or at the most have someone who knows you well r/t help you write it. A profile is only the first point of contact on this site; you need to make sure that follow up contact will be consistent.

4. IMO, a good profile has an overall view of the person - not just about their kink, but a bit about themselves as whole people, and a realistic view of what they are looking for.

HentaiGamerKitty -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 5:48:23 AM)

How do people expect to be taken seriously as a dominant when they can't even write a coherent sentence???

Arpig -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 8:14:05 AM)

Your being Canadian has just clicked me to a possibility...is French perhaps your first language...if so, then I suggest you write your profile in French and then translate it...I would be happy to translate one for you if you are having trouble doing that.
If, however, English is your first language, then learn to spell & punctuate for God's sake!!

Amen. I see no problem with a little help... but you'll appreciate your profile a ton more if you write it yourself.

IronBear -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 10:17:10 AM)

SirSteven, My only addition to this is to suggest that you start by looking at the profiles of the Doms/Masters who have posted to this thread.

jali, wicincala hopa,

You are a credit to your collar. My respects and congratulations to your Master.

I quite agree. I took a while sorting out my profile till I was sure it said what I wanted it to say and gave the impression I wanted to convey, then I asked for a little help so I got a subs eye view (OK she also proofread it for me.... she is such a sweetie[:)]). Made a couple of changes and posted it, job done and relitivly easy.

slavejali -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 11:40:43 AM)

hi RavenMuse Sir, I just showed that profile I wrote to Master and He said I shouldnt have posted it on here till I checked with Sir Steven and told me to delete it, He agrees with you over the illiteracy comment I made.

So i deleted it from here.

I'm emailing it to him.

RavenMuse -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 12:07:18 PM)

You sure you want to use illiterate? not sure about stateside but even if you are saying it doesn't make you stupid, it still carrys that conotation... at least from here.

If it is a problem such as Dyslexia or a disability then IMO that is a better term to use. Most folks understand that dyslexia isn't tied to a lack of intelligence for example.

MsSonnetMarwood -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 12:29:44 PM)

Whether French-Canadian, dyslexic, or dumb.....there's always spellcheck.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Well tryed writing a profile (3/9/2006 12:40:15 PM)

Not necessarily when it comes to grammar/punctuation and/or words that sound like other words but are spelled different.

And Raven?!! Twice in one day? Puleeeze...I'll give you a week or two to stop that, you flatterer...

True, but just to prove a point, I ran the original post through spellcheck on Word:

I didn't make any punctuation changes.

Still a bit messy, but also makes more sense now.

*lol* you DO have a point![;)][:)]
