(fast reply) Well, ... I didn't think it was very funny either but I can definitely see how some would. The sheer ludicrousness of such propaganda is in and of itself somewhat amusing but the idea that at the time it was written/performed it was a serious piece does tend to make it rather offensive to me. Added to this is the reality that many men (and societies) do still believe this type of drivel is true ... yeah, I think it was in bad taste even if the intent was to be funny. I have to add, ... I did have Farmville open in another window while I watched that clip and the moo'ing, cluck'ing and ba'ing of all the critters during the playing of it did help to create enough levity for me to stomach it - lol. I am pretty much an expert on this guy (compared to most here, anyway), and can confirm that it was indeed written as satire and is not to be taken seriously at all. It was part of a comedy sketch show called 'Harry Enfield's Television Programme' from 1990. He did a number of sketches using the character Mr. Chomondley-Warner and was making fun of the ridiculous government information broadcasts from back when such ideas were actually accepted. If it does not amuse you, then fine, but please, do not be offended. Although what this has to do with BDSM I am not entirely sure.

Having grown up with those sort of educational vids I could definitely see the satire in this. Check out the others and you will find there are equally ludicrous pieces on males (though not as many). Knowing it was satire, and coming from the UK, where friends of mine have told me tales.. I laughed till I peed. As for what it is doing here? It's mostly the first link to click on.. I have made that mistake many times.

"Do equal rights mean equal or identical roles?" This truly wasn't a joke thread. The video was to get the point across and defuse the extremists that troll for arguments. There is a lot discussion on these forums about fantasy vs legality, slave's rights/roles/definitions and often the ERA flag wavers come in making it into an apples vs oranges discussion. You have already seen them make their humorless comments in this thread. I had hoped a little humorous perspective in the OP would defuse that crap and get a good thread going about how rights and relationship roles are not relative because relationship roles are voluntary.
