It's strange. I see very little use of the word fetish, and are we the only people who use the word Moé?

Anyone here find a fetish more interesting than 'standard' play?

Please discuss.

Very few people actually have true fetishes. And fetishes tend to be very specific and personal for those who have them.

Slipstreme -> RE: This site's F-word? (3/9/2006 8:48:56 AM)

Ive actually seen a lot of fetishes described here, but whether or not anyone will call it a fetish is up to them. I simply tend not to use the word, and rather use the word obsession, or fixation.

"Standard" BDSM play in and of itself can be someone's fetish. I will be the first to admit that yes, I have a flogging obsession, that you could say borders on addiction.

fet·ish also fet·ich Audio pronunciation of "fetish" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ftsh, ftsh)
n.

1. An object that is believed to have magical or spiritual powers, especially such an object associated with animistic or shamanistic religious practices.
2. An object of unreasonably excessive attention or reverence: made a fetish of punctuality.
3. Something, such as a material object or a nonsexual part of the body, that arouses sexual desire and may become necessary for sexual gratification.
4. An abnormally obsessive preoccupation or attachment; a fixation.

A few of my fetishes:
1. The anklet I wear...it is a spiritual tie to jason. The neckalce I wear is a spiritual tie to both anne and jason. The bloodprint t-shirt I have, it is a spiritual bond between me, jason and anne.
2. I have a fetish for reading.
3. Uniforms, tats, blood in SM play and fire.
4. jason and anne

What's "standard play"? That's pretty subjective.

Fire

Having a fetish is not the same as having OCD. While a fetish CAN involve an obsession about something, and while people certainly can have fetishes AND have OCD, they come from very different sources and serve very different purposes.

perverseangelic -> RE: This site's F-word? (3/9/2006 10:46:18 AM)

I have a collar fetish. It's not particularly -exciting- nor does it fall much outside the "bdsm" realm, so it doesn't come up too often.

I figure a lot of people have fetishes that fall neatly into WIITWD so they don't think of them as fetishes per ce.

Submotive -> RE: This site's F-word? (3/9/2006 8:45:13 PM)

kinkylvcouple -> RE: This site's F-word? (3/10/2006 8:22:10 AM)

I believe most people dont really inderstand what it really means to have a fetish. It can be a curse in some ways but if you have the chance to experience them regularly, it is a explosive and unmatched feeling of satisfaction. I wish I could find some others with the same fetishes as I and then be able to live out some of my fetishes.

uuu i think i have a "force" fetish. Even tho there was a an explanation for the word fetish i still dunno if i have the "right" meaning of it. i just conjure up thoughts of foot fetishs, shoe fetishs, sock fetishs.. and think.. they LOVE it. A girl in socks will get me off! heh. But who knows?

So i just LOVE force.. forced anything.. force force force.. arg! and more force. Go on force me to clean your house.. heh heh and triple heh

MistressOfGA I don't think black makes poeple look slimmer, I think it makes them look shapeless. I see celebs in all black like a black t a black pant and they just look like one shapeless formless blob.

It depends on the cut of the clothes. Tailored clothing which defines without constraining in a solid color can elongate the body and make one appear slimmer. Black absorbs light so there are no tell tale shadows which fools the eye. Of course, diet and exercise can do that permanently, but wearing black until then is a stop gap measure that is becoming, chic and flattering for most who know the right cuts to purchase and wear. I adore wearing black and I don't believe I've ever looked shapeless in anything I've worn.
